On Saturday, August 1st, the PB Texas staff traveled to McLennan Community College in Waco, TX, to host the Central Texas Upperclass Uncommitted Games, an invite-only event for the classes of 2027 & 2028.

More than 30 players made their way to MCC and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

TOP CATCHING PROSPECTS

1. Bryce Elwart, Wylie (TX), 2028
Positional Profile: C/1B RHH/C Physically will continue to add strength. Moves well. Hands work behind plate receives well. Flashes quality pop times in workout. Solid bat/power combo developing.
Body: 6-0, 185 pounds. Width to back, sloping shoulders. Good middle/lower. Projects for adding strength.
Hit: RHH. Toe tap stride, rotational back foot gets stuck at times. Linear movement present. Work to get back foot fully turned and driving forward with linear movement to fully engage lower 1/2 in swing. Hits into firm front leg/side. Stride foot rolls onto side of foot at contact, work to keep foot into ground thru contact. With stride hands push back, slight raise in back elbow, hands/barrel in solid launch position. Back elbow drives down to back hip getting barrel on plane, solid extension thru baseball.
Power: 96 mph max exit velocity (86.9 avg.); 369-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 78 mph. Arm works, follow throws with feet after release. Raw arm strength will continue develop.
Defense: 1.94-2.07 pop time range; Receives well, hands work. Shows some quickness to feet. Firm direction when throwing to 2nd.
Athletic Testing: 7.17 runner in the 60-yard dash; 23.70-inch max vertical jump. Solid run form and stride length. Upright runner last 40 yards, develop slight lean forward with shoulders and head. Speed can increase some.
