The Last Chance Summer ID/Rising Stars ID took place on Saturday, August 22, at The First Academy in Orlando, FL. The event featured players from the 2027-2030 classes participating in a pro-style workout, followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

Today, we will share quick notes on the standouts from Saturday's event.

Quick Hits

PITCHERS

Only four pitchers threw at the Last Chance ID. Leading the way was ‘27 Ryne Mullen, who ran the fastball up to 87.1 mph. His extension down the mound was noticeable as it was an average of 7.4 ft on his fastball. ‘29 Zachary Killian got up to 84.7 mph with his fastball, but it was his curveball that stood out, spinning it up to 2786 rpm.

POWER BATS

‘27 Ryne Mullen led the event in the power department as well with a max exit velocity of 99.9 mph. ‘28 Austin Komives had a max EV of 98.0 mph. ‘29 Dorian Belluomini was third with a 95.9 max EV. Mullen led the event in average exit velocity as well at 90.8 mph and ‘29 Audigier Perez was second with an 87 mph average EV. ‘27 Tank Chavous was third in average EV at 86.9 mph and first in max distance at 375 feet.

ATHLETES

We had three sub-7.00 60-yard dash times at the event. ‘28 Esteban Vazquez was first, running a 6.82 60. ‘28 Liam Watson ran a 6.95 and ‘29 Audigier Perez ran a 6.99. Vazquez and Perez had the two best 10-yard splits.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

‘29 Audigier Perez showed smooth actions at short during the defensive workout. Quick feet, working under control with soft hands and a quick exchange. ‘27 Ryne Mullen showed off the strongest arm of the day up to 87 mph from across the infield. ‘29s Rylin Rappina and Zachary Killian had the top outfield velocities.

RISING STARS

We had a strong pair of Rising Stars at the Last Chance ID. ‘31 Cristian Lobaina showed well all over the field with a 93.9 max EV, 82 infield velo, and 2.03 pop time. ‘30 Otto Albert had a max EV of 92.6 mph and showed potential for future power as he continues to mature.
