With the 2026-27 school year approaching, the recruiting landscape continues to take shape across New Jersey, with several rising seniors still available for college programs to pursue. From impact bats and athletic defenders to high-upside arms, this group features a variety of talented prospects who have the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. Here is a look at five uncommitted rising seniors from New Jersey who should be on the radar as the recruiting process continues to unfold.

Jack Lerro RHP / St Augustine Preparatory School, NJ / 2027The 6-foot-2, 160-pound wiry right handed pitching prospect remains uncommitted headed into his senior year and has a power 3-pitch mix that gives him multiple weapons to attack hitters and the potential to develop into a high-impact arm at the next level. Mechanically, he works exclusively from the stretch with a drop and drive delivery getting up to 6.5’ of extension off the mound. The arm works to full extension in the backswing with a clean compact motion through delivery from a ¾ release. The 3-pitch mix features a power FB sitting in the low 90s getting up to 94 MPH generating up to 2455 RPMs and 23.8” of IVB giving it a firm rising shape out of hand that works effectively at the top of the zone. The offspeed features a SL working in the high 70s to low 80s with true two-tier shape generating up to -15.3” of HM. In the field, Yordany has decisive actions with quick feet that round off the ball well, soft hands that field out in front with a smooth transfer. The arm strength is advanced, firing it across the diamond at 90 MPH. At the plate, AJ has a slightly widespread setup with rhythmic hands held at shoulder height. During load, he has a controlled leg kick that allows for an efficient weight transfer while the hands work short to the ball and close to the body generating a 99.1 MPH max exit velocity and 75.2 MPH max bat speed. Defensively, he works from one knee behind the plate, pairing a smooth transfer with a compact arm action that produces throws up to 80 MPH and pop times ranging from 1.90-2.03 seconds. Mechanically, he has a segmented sidesaddle windup with a tall and fall delivery leaving room to develop more extension in his lower half. His arm action is long and quick in the backswing that works into a unique low ¾ / side arm release that allows his hand prolong pronation generating natural cut on his pitch mix. The FB sits in the high 80s and has touched 90 MPH with up to 2060 RPMs and 17.8” of HM at its best generating firm armside run. The main offspeed offering is the SL sitting 74-77 MPH, topping 78 MPH with up to 2349 RPMs and -8.8” of HM generating a true 2-tier shape with sharp gloveside movement.
