Following a long summer evaluating prospects through tournaments, special state events here in the Sooner State, and our own events, we take an updated look at the 2028 class rankings. This class also sees a lot of movement in this update after we got a closer look at some of the top uncommitted prospects competing against the nation's best at the Future Games.

RANKINGS SPOTLIGHTS

Cruz Garrett SS / Dale, OK / 2028 Garrett’s big spring for Dale continued onto the summer circuit with the 2-way prospect showing legitimate each way in his ability to impact games at a high level. An athletic easy-mover, the athleticism translates to all parts of his game with foundational tools such as the 6.75 60 and 92 mph infield arm across the diamond. Consistently disciplined at the plate, there is still room to grow and add strength for the 5’11” and 174 pound prospect. Further, that upside is arguably highest on the mound with the fastball already working up to 90.5 mph with both 15.2” IVB and 16.2” HM and a slider with minimal IVB and up to -15.9” HM. Garrett continues to trend up, showcasing both polish and projectability, as a coveted prospect for schools at the next level.

Bayler Black C / Caddo, OK / 2028 The Caddo prospect is the ideal battery mate, a physical target at 6’2” and 190 pounds. A left handed hitting catcher, Black showcased the present tools and upside to be a middle of the order force at the next level as a member of Team Oklahoma at the Future Games. With strength at contact, we have seen power to all fields as well as a hit tool that keeps him in the zone for an extended period and the ability to collect 2K hits. Behind the plate, there is strength as well as athleticism and a motor. With the current foundational skillset along with the upside, Black continues his rise in our latest installment as he comes off a big summer once again showcasing the impact he can have at the next level.

Bryson Francis OF / Owasso, OK / 2028 Francis is coming off a big showing at the Future Games that saw him showcase the massive upside that has turned heads from the spring and into the summer months. The athleticism jumps off the page with a registered 6.89 60 and 25”+ vertical, but we have also seen it translate onto the diamond. An advanced defender in centerfield, Francis has been up to 91 from the outfield and a 98.3 mph EV to round out the projectability as a position player. However, the ceiling does not stop there as the greatest upside could be on the mound. With visible competitiveness, Francis has showcased arm talent with the fastball up to 91.7 mph and paired it with a swing and miss slider with strong metrics. Following a strong summer, Francis rises in our latest installment with an abundance of tools throughout his game and one of the highest ceilings in the class - one to buy stock in now as it will certainly continue to go up from here.

CJ Glasgow 2B / Stillwater, OK / 2028 Glasgow makes a jump in our latest installment after the consistency he showed throughout the summer circuit - continuing his strong spring for Stillwater. Doing a little bit of everything, he has shown versatility across the infield with the ability to defend all three spots with the arm strength and carry to stick on the left side. An easy, efficient offensive move, he has delivered the barrel with authority as he drives the baseball to all parts of the yard. Further, there is legitimate upside with a developing power profile with EVs up to 96 mph, easy bat speed, and comfort backspinning and elevating balls pull side. Glasgow rises in our latest installment as a steady riser and name to know as he continues to develop in all parts of his game and appears primed for a big junior campaign.

Talon Arnold RHP / Calumet, OK / 2028 Arnold continues his rise in our latest update following a strong summer, on both sides of the ball, and oozes upside throughout his game. As a big part of the fall and spring state titles for Calumet, Arnold showed no signs of slowing down this summer with his feel for playing the game and pitching in particular. At a wiry 6’0” and 145 pounds, there is plenty of room to continue adding strength to the frame that has already produced a fastball that works into the upper 80s and 21.9” IVB. The feel for breaking ball is also an outlier, minimal IVB and up to -14.3” HM, that has given him a swing and miss option against both RHH and LHH alike. Further, the 2-way potential is evident with a 6.92 60 to date and the arm strength to stick on the left side of the infield. Arnold rises in our latest installment following a strong showing as part of Team Oklahoma at the Future Games and a game that will assuredly continue to develop with an already strong foundation.

Cadence Smith OF / Putnam City West, OK / 2028 Smith debuts in our ranks following a strong spring for PC West as well as his showing at our OKC Summer ID. He showcased exceptional athleticism throughout all parts of his game, starting with a 6.8 60 that included a 1.57 10-yard split. Offensively, the move is simple and efficient with good direction and keeps him in the zone for an extended period of time. On the mound, the outlier metrics point to upside as well with feel for a mid 80s fastball and a breaking ball that is approaching 2500+ RPMs. A lean 5’8” and 148 pounds, Smith oozes upside as he continues to develop, add to his frame, and already dynamic skillset that allows him to impact games in a variety of ways.

Evan Jameson 2B / Claremore, OK / 2028 Jameson debuts in our latest installment following a strong sophomore campaign for Claremore that continued into the summer months. A top of the order skillset is consistently on display with a 6.90 60 time and a disciplined approach through the middle of the field and a 30% Sweet Spot and 30% Hard Hit %. An already strong 5’10” and 170 pound frame, he produced easy bat speed that reached 76 mph at its peak. Claremore will once again be amongst the favorites in 5A and Jameson’s ability to set the table for the potent middle of the order will go a long way in another deep run.

Grant Murray OF / Owasso, OK / 2028 Murray is coming off a strong summer and appears poised to burst onto the scene for Owasso next spring. A rangey, talented outfield prospect, his balanced skillset allows him to impact games in a variety of ways and further adds to the future upside. At 6’0” and 160 pounds, there is still room to add onto the frame with already explosive traits - a 6.8 60 and up to 90 mph from the outfield. The long-levered LHH has already showcased a 41% Sweet Spot % (balls batted between 8 & 32 degrees) and with added strength there will be added XBHs as well. Murray rises in our latest installment following a strong summer and the look of a prospect ready to take another step.

Tyler Klugh SS / Victory Christian, OK / 2028 Klugh finished the 2026 spring strong for Victory Christian as he worked at the top of the order and that continued onto the summer circuit playing a highly competitive schedule. He has shown the ability to defend at a high level in the middle of the infield, a sure-handed defender throwing with carry that can stick on the left side. Offensively, the profile continues to trend up as he adds strength to add to the already disciplined, high OBP-centered approach. Klugh has also registered a 6.96 60 speaking to the pressure he can put on opposing defenses. He rises in our latest update as a shortstop to follow closely in the 2028 ranks.

Travis Yockel 1B / Edmond Santa Fe, OK / 2028 Yockel debuts in our ranks with a balanced skillset that can help teams win games in a variety of ways. An easy, efficient offensive move immediately jumps out as he can consistently impact the baseball at a high level. Consistently working with good direction to the middle of the field and in good balance, Yockel put together a loud round of BP at the OKC Summer ID with an EV up to 95.5 mph and XBH ability to all parts of the yard. Further, the Edmond Santa Fe product has showcased versatility in his ability to defend all over the infield. With room to add strength to a still developing 5’11” and 166 pound frame, Yockel is a name to follow with a strong foundational skillset and versatility to help his team in a variety of ways.
