Tobacco Road State Games

August 15–16, 2026 | Stick Williams Dream Field – Home of Queens University | Charlotte, NC

The 2026 Tobacco Road State Games brought together some of the top talent from across North Carolina for two days at Stick Williams Dream Field in Charlotte. The six-team roster featured players from the 2027–2029 classes, providing another opportunity for Prep Baseball scouts, college coaches, and professional scouts to evaluate many of the state's top prospects in one setting.

The State Games served as a culmination of Prep Baseball North Carolina's coverage throughout the preseason, high school spring, and summer circuit. The roster was built with players who performed their way into the event throughout the year, including standouts from the Preseason All-State, NC/SC Border Battle, and other events across the state. The field also featured players with experience at some of Prep Baseball's premier national and regional events, including the Future Games, Senior Future Games, Super Sophomore Games, and Junior Future Games.

With close to 20 college programs represented throughout the weekend, the event provided an opportunity for players to perform in front of evaluators while updating their Prep Baseball profiles. Position players opened the event with a pro-style workout, producing updated statistics, analytics, and video through a full offensive and defensive evaluation. Following the workout, players transitioned into game action, with each of the six teams playing two games over the course of the weekend.

Prep Baseball scouts were on hand throughout the event, collecting data, video, and evaluations. The coverage from the Tobacco Road State Games will continue with leaderboards, statistical analysis, scout notes, and player features highlighting the players and performances that stood out in Charlotte.

Most Valuable Player: Owen Eudy

The inaugural Tobacco Road State Games brought together a deep collection of talent from across North Carolina, with numerous players who will draw significant college and professional attention in the coming years. After two days of workouts and live game action in Charlotte, Owen Eudy, 3B/SS, Athens Drive HS (2028) separated himself with one of the weekend's most complete offensive performances, earning Most Valuable Player honors.

Standing 6-foot, 175 pounds, Eudy entered the game portion of the event after putting together a solid showing during the pro-style workout. The athletic right-handed hitter produced a 93.1 mph max exit velocity and 87.8 mph average exit velocity, consistently finding the barrel throughout his BP round. His best ball traveled 325 feet, providing another look at the developing impact within the frame.

While the workout provided a glimpse at Eudy's offensive ability, his performance against live pitching ultimately separated him.

Eudy was consistently on time, balanced and in position to impact the baseball throughout his two games. He produced four barrels in five at-bats, showing both present impact and the ability to use the entire field. His weekend started with a bang as he drove a ball over the left-field wall for a home run in his first at-bat. Later, he stayed through a pitch for a double to right field and added a single back through the middle.

The ability to produce hard contact to left, center and right field was a separator. Rather than relying solely on pull-side impact, Eudy showed an ability to stay balanced, recognize pitches and manipulate the barrel while maintaining authority to different parts of the field. Prep Baseball scouts noted that he was on time throughout his two games of action, with the barrel feel showing up consistently against live arms.

Eudy finished game play 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four barrels, carrying the consistency from his workout directly into competition. His combination of athleticism, barrel accuracy, hard contact and production against live pitching made him one of the biggest standouts from a talented field.

In an event built to bring many of North Carolina's top prospects together in one setting, Eudy performed when the competition went live. That performance earns Owen Eudy the Most Valuable Player Award at the inaugural Tobacco Road State Games.
