Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Thursday

New Manchester @ Kennesaw Mountain

Score: Kennesaw Mountain win, 2-0

Standouts:

Carter Jeske, RHP, 2028, Kennesaw Mountain

Braylon Paradiso, OF, 2027, Kennesaw Mountain

"
Kayson Mahan, 3B, 2027, New Manchester

Key Moments:
Carter Jeske was locked in for the Mustangs from the jump and got run support in the 3rd inning. After Islander Poventud hit a bloop double and came around to open the scoring. Kennesaw Mountain tacked on another run in the 4th after a Braylon Paradiso triple as they would end up being the final score at 2-0.

Avery’s Takeaway:
Jeske shut down the opposing Jaguars as he nearly went the distance across 6.2 IP with 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 13 K in a win. It was a quiet night for the Mustangs offense but Islander Poventud and Austin Carter can power this offense on any given night. The defense for Kennesaw Mountain really stood out, especially up the middle in the dirt with Poventud at SS and Beau Lindic at 2B who turned in one of the best double plays I’ve seen in my tenure. New Manchester has been having a solid season as they will look to bounce back and names 1-5 in the lineup stood out including Kayson Mahan, Jarrell Reynolds Jr., Tyler Bright, Stephan Paul, and Brandon Fears.

Sonoraville @ North Cobb Christian

Score: North Cobb Christian win, 9-2

Standouts:

Brody Brant, 1B, 2026, North Cobb Christian

Austin Tamborra, OF, 2027, North Cobb Christian

Owen Shipley, 3B/C, 2028, Sonoraville

Carson Bruce, OF, 2027, North Cobb Christian

Cooper Fitch, RHP, 2027, North Cobb Christian

Key Moments: A first-inning backside RBI 2B from Hudson Kinman would give Sonoraville the early lead over an efficient first couple innings before the Eagles offense would get rolling in the 3rd. A 4-run inning from NCC would end up being the deciding runs in the game highlighted by a no-doubt 2-run HR from Brody Brant and RBI 3B from Troy Mastrogianakis. The Eagles would pad the lead the rest of the game thanks to a JD Aufdeheide 2-run 3B and a backside HR from Carson Bruce. Cooper Fitch set the tone on the mound all game long with soft contact and quick innings in the midst of striking out 9.

Ian’s Takeaway: The Eagles remain undefeated in region at 11-0 with this high-powered offense hitting its stride at the perfect time. 1-through-9 each added a hit last night with 4 of the first 5 in the lineup coming through with 2 RBI a piece. There aren't any easy outs in this lineup and can hang crooked numbers on any type of pitching, as shown last night. 12 HR on the spring from Carson Bruce leads all 2027s in the state and showed the strength even on mishits to put balls out to all fields. One of the biggest takeaways from the night was the efficiency from Cooper Fitch against a quality lineup. Getting starts like that will only build confidence heading into what could be the most competitive classification in the playoffs.
