2026 MSHSAA Team Rankings: Week 3
April 6, 2026
The Missouri high school baseball kicks off on March 19th, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Team Rankings.
Our rankings are broken up into two divisions: large school and small schools. We classify the 'large' schools as those residing in Class 5 & 6, while the small schools make up the remaining MSHSAA classifications. We rank what we believe to be the top teams in the state at that level, as well as highlighting several 'On Deck' teams.
Below you will find our week three team rankings for the 2026 season for Large Schools and Small Schools.
During the season, you can catch all the action by following us on Twitter @PrepBaseballMO.
2026 Prep Baseball Missouri Large School Rankings - Week 3
Despite the rain, it was an action-packed week across the state, resulting in significant shuffling throughout our Large School Rankings as no single team has yet pulled away from the pack.
Blue Springs South and Liberty North both hold steady in the top two spots. They are joined in the top three by another Kansas City area team in Liberty, which jumped from No. 9 after a strong week featuring wins over Staley, Nixa, and Glendale. An experienced and gritty squad, the Blue Jays have proven they have the talent to beat anyone in the state.
Further down the list, Willard, Rock Bridge, Jackson, and Lafayette all continue to climb as they rack up victories, settling into the No. 6 through No. 9 spots. The No. 10 position features our first newcomer of the week, St. Louis University. Sporting a 7-2 record, the Jr. Billikens make their debut after securing impressive wins over Lafayette and Francis Howell this past week.
Conversely, Francis Howell, Fort Zumwalt West, and Oakville all fell out of the top 10 following tough losses against high-caliber opponents.
Marquette also enters the rankings this week at No. 15. The Mustangs improved to 8-1 on the season with recent victories over Kirkwood, Oakville, and Chaminade, adding to an early-season win over St. Dominic. They won't have much time to celebrate their debut, however, as they face an immediate test this week with a high-stakes series against Rockwood Summit begining on Tuesday.

2026 Prep Baseball Missouri Small School Rankings - Week 3
It was a relatively calm week in the Small School Rankings as most teams took care of business, though rain shortened the action for several squads.
Our rankings remain unchanged from last week with one notable exception at the No. 7 spot: Southern Boone falls out of the top ten and is replaced by Excelsior Springs. The Tigers have improved to 8-2 on the young season, bolstered by two convincing wins over conference rival Benton and a key victory over Park Hill this past week. Their only two losses thus far have come at the hands of large school competition.
