NOTABLE RECAPS FROM FRIDAY
Kanab (4) vs. Canyon View (2)
The Kanab Cowboys relied on a masterclass from the mound and timely extra-base power to secure a hard-fought 4–2 victory over the Canyon View Falcons. The story of the game was Walker Baird, who turned in a dominant complete-game performance, racking up 10 strikeouts while surrendering just two hits over seven frames to anchor the Kanab defense. The Cowboys' offense found its spark early through Grady Anderson, who launched a triple and crossed the plate, while Sayer Fenus provided the decisive blow with a two-RBI single to keep the pressure on. Canyon View remained within striking distance behind a towering two-run home run from Noah Sandoval, but they struggled to find a rhythm against Baird’s electric stuff. Despite a resilient complete-game effort from Falcons starter Jack Merrill, who kept the contest tight until the final out, Kanab’s defensive poise and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities allowed them to maintain control and walk away with the win.

Juan Diego Catholic (5) vs. Manti (4)
The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle outlasted Manti in a dramatic eight-inning affair, securing a narrow 5–4 victory that was decided by timely hitting and effective relief work. Beckham Black led the charge for the Soaring Eagle, delivering a standout three-hit performance including a double, while Hudson Houtz provided a constant threat with two hits and two stolen bases. On the mound, Nash Crowther set a strong tone with five innings and six strikeouts, before handing the ball to Lange Livonius, who pitched nearly three scoreless frames to earn the win and navigate the high-pressure final innings. Manti kept the pressure on throughout the afternoon, fueled by the aggressive baserunning of Stephen Robbins, who crossed the plate three times, and a resilient six-strikeout relief effort from Zach Blackham. Despite the Templars' persistent threat and several defensive miscues, Juan Diego’s ability to manufacture runs in the extra frame allowed them to escape with the hard-fought road win in a contest defined by narrow margins.

Brighton (3) vs. #7 Corner Canyon (4)
The Corner Canyon Chargers used a balanced offensive attack and lockdown relief pitching to slide past Brighton in a 4–3 nail-biter. Corner Canyon found their rhythm through opportunistic baserunning and timely extra-base hits, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Thorn and a strong table-setting performance by Downing, who doubled and scored twice. Lincoln Eure proved to be the difference-maker for the Chargers, contributing an RBI at the plate before taking the mound to deliver three dominant innings of scoreless relief to secure the victory. Brighton’s lineup remained dangerous throughout the contest, led by Broden Fry, who reached base in every plate appearance with a double and a stolen base, and Oliver Pohlman, who drove in two runs with a clutch double of his own. Despite a five-inning start from Wilder Strong and a multi-hit effort from Mac Gunn, Corner Canyon’s defensive poise and Eure’s efficiency in the closing frames allowed the Chargers to hold on for the hard-fought home win.

Mount St. Mary (12) vs. #15 Skyridge (13)
The Skyridge Falcons survived a chaotic, high-scoring marathon against the Mount St. Mary Rockets, ultimately securing a wild 13–12 victory in a game defined by constant traffic on the base paths. While the Falcons were out-hit 11 to 8, they maximized their opportunities by capitalizing on eight walks and six Rockets errors to keep the scoreboard moving. Zayden Bye was the engine of the Skyridge offense, driving in four runs and swiping two bags, while Ripken Roberts was a terror on the bases, scoring three times and recording three stolen bases. Tate Young provided the early stability Skyridge needed, tossing nearly five innings to earn the win before the Rockets launched a massive eight-run rally in the middle frames. Despite the late-inning surge from Mount St. Mary—led by a monstrous performance from Rylan Kuklinski, who finished a home run shy of the cycle—the Falcons' ability to manufacture runs early and their relentless pressure on the bases allowed them to hold on for the narrow win in a true offensive showcase.
