Today, we are going to introduce a new piece of content called the “Daily Round Up”. Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Wednesday

Therrell @ Hapeville Charter

Score: Therrell win, 11-0

Standouts:

Traveon Banks, 1B, 2027, Therrell

Raysean Eberhart, 3B/RHP, 2026, Therrell

Drakeo Farley Jr., C, 2029, Therrell

Key moments: The Panthers jumped out to an early lead in the second as they took advantage of walks with timely hits. 2026 3B Raysean Eberhart came through with a 3 RBI triple and 2027 1B Traveon Banks added a 2 RBI double. Therrell didn’t look back from there as they went on to win 11-0 in a run-rule behind good base-running and defense.

Avery’s Takeaway: This was a chippy matchup as Therrell evened the score after dropping the matchup on Monday. The Panthers did the little things right which will take them a long way in region play this year. Names like Eberhart and Banks can carry this offense on any given night which bodes well for Coach Christian and staff. Freshmen backstop Drakeo Farley Jr. showed well across the board as he limited the run game along with picking up a hit at the dish. The lone hit from Hapeville came from 2027 C Dereontay Anderson. Both of these teams have the pieces to compete in region as Hapeville looks to bounce back.

Pinewood Christian @ Citizens Christian

Score: Citizens Christian win, 10-0

Standouts:

Blake Bryant, RHP, 2026, Citizens Christian

Gray McLean, SS, 2026, Citizens Christian

Thomas Gentry, RHP/SS, 2028, Citizens Christian

Key Moments: Blake Bryant set the tone early and often, and was near perfection for majority of the 5.0 IP win outside of two first inning hits. Gray McLean would finish a big tone-setting 4-run 2nd inning with a ringing pull-side HR on a hanging breaking ball that got out in a hurry. Small ball added runs throughout the night including RBI 1B from Bryant, Landon Williams, and Jonah Hall.

Ian’s Takeaway: The defending state champions returns a talented roster into 2026 and already showing well with some big early season wins. When you have one of the best pitchers in the state leading the charge, it makes things a little bit easier as well. RHP Blake Bryant showed the full mix the entire outing, generating whiffs at will with the FB/SL and running it up to 96 multiple times. 1-through-4 in the order for the Patriots offer strong hit/power combos and have the capability to carry this offense all spring long. Younger pieces are already slotting in and find roles as well, including Clay Phillips and Mason Spivey, who already looks the part at both the plate and 3B as an 8th grader on varsity.
