Tennessee Diamond Notes: Week 1

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance.
Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 1
+ Bo Cooper (Signal Mountain High School) reached base in 14 consecutive plate appearances during the week while hitting .733 (11-for-15). The 2026 shortstop added a double against Boyd and McCallie, showing an advanced feel for the barrel and consistently producing quality at-bats.
+ Parker Rogers (Wartburg Central High School) had a strong offensive week, going 4-for-7 (.571) with two doubles, three RBIs, and five runs scored in games against Harriman and Midway.
+ Riley Thompson (Wartburg Central High School) turned in a dominant outing on the mound against Midway, tossing four no-hit innings while striking out six, showcasing early swing-and-miss ability.
+ James Hooker (Sevier County High School) had a massive three-game stretch at the plate, hitting .714 with three doubles and a home run. His week was highlighted by a 3-for-3 Opening Day performance that included two doubles and four runs scored.
+ Zane Miller (Sevier County High School) impressed on both sides of the ball, going 5-for-8 with three doubles and eight RBIs at the plate while also earning a relief win after throwing 2.1 innings on the mound.
+ Ethan Westmoreland (Livingston Academy) delivered a dominant performance on the mound, tossing a complete-game two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks across seven shutout innings.
+ Brody Threet (Livingston Academy) hit .400 (4-for-10) with a double and five RBIs while also making an impact defensively behind the plate by throwing out three baserunners.
+ Easton Sullivan (Greenfield High School) turned in a monster all-around performance, throwing a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts while also going 4-for-6 at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs, homering in his first two at-bats of the season.
+ Reid Bogart (Unicoi County High School) had a huge offensive showing, going 5-for-6 with a double and a home run while driving in six RBIs, including a grand slam that sealed Game 1.
+ Easton Housewright (Grace Christian Academy – Knoxville) put together an impressive four-game stretch, hitting .583 with three home runs and four stolen bases while posting a 2.022 OPS.
+ Jackson Booker (Halls High School) delivered a dominant outing on the mound against Madison Academic, throwing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts while allowing just one hit.
+ David York (Halls High School) contributed on both sides of the ball, tossing five innings while allowing just one run and striking out multiple hitters, while also going 4-for-9 at the plate with two doubles and four RBIs.
+ Mikee Teasley (Oak Ridge High School) worked four innings on the mound while allowing just one earned run, showcasing high-end arm strength that has worked into the low-90's.
+ Jackson Guerry (Oak Ridge High School) turned in a strong outing against Nolensville, throwing 4.1 innings with four strikeouts and no walks while allowing just one run.
+ Parker Free (Oak Ridge High School) had a big offensive week, hitting .545 with two home runs and seven RBIs while posting a 1.682 OPS over 12 plate appearances.
+ Nolan Benson (Anderson County High School) went 10-for-19 at the plate with two doubles, six RBIs, and three stolen bases, highlighting a productive offensive stretch.
+ Collier Helton (Pigeon Forge High School) led a combined five-inning no-hitter against Chuckey Doak, striking out seven across four scoreless innings.
+ Brody Watson (Pigeon Forge High School) had a strong offensive showing, going 5-for-7 (.714) with a double and two triples while driving in three runs.
+ Bowen Combs (Meigs County High School) went 3-for-8 with a double and a triple, providing extra-base production during the stretch.
+ Adam Mason (Meigs County High School) contributed offensively by going 4-for-9 with a double and four RBIs, helping drive in runs for the Tigers.
+ Jacob Caruso (Collierville High School) hit .455 (5-for-11) with a double and two triples while adding two stolen bases.
+ Tyler Robinson (Collierville High School) went 2-0 on the week, throwing four innings with four strikeouts while allowing no earned runs.
+ Josh Hull (Collierville High School) earned a win after tossing four no-hit innings with four strikeouts, dominating opposing hitters.
+ Colton Cordell (Collierville High School) picked up a win after throwing 5.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts while allowing just three hits.
+ Kole Carter (Cumberland Gap High School) hit .444 with five RBIs and four stolen bases while also earning a win on the mound after tossing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
+ Hunter Gibson (Cumberland Gap High School) contributed offensively with a .333 average while adding two RBIs and three stolen bases.
+ Eli Reed (Cumberland Gap High School) secured a save on the mound after throwing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts to close out the victory.
