The Missouri high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Coach’s Insight: “We have a large senior class that has been a big part of our success in their time at Summit. Three of the seniors (Kaden Dinges, Wyatt Schneider, and Carter Nagel) have been on varsity the last 2-3 years. The class of 2026 and their leadership/experience will be a key to our success. As long as this year's group of guys continue to buy in to the program's standards, we should be very competitive again. After losing a couple big arms from last year, we have a younger group of guys that we are excited to see shine on the mound this year. After losing a lot of pitching from last year, our lack of experience on the bump would be our biggest unkown going into the season. However, it is also one of the things we are most excited about because we have lots of guys that are ready to fill those vacated innings. I don't really see it as a weakness, as much as I see it as an opportunity for new guys stepping into new roles.” – Jason Schneider, head coach
