2026 Prep Baseball Dakotas Preseason ID-South Dakota: Quick Hits

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Preseason ID-South Dakota had over 85 prospects from the 2026-2029 classes. The event had breakout players putting up eye opening numbers in all facts of our showcase. If one thing is certain, talent in the Dakotas is only getting better. This event raised the bar.

We again want to thank the players, parents, college coaches and the Sioux Falls Sports Dome staff for making this event a success. Check up on 8 players that had eye opening performances at the Preseason ID-South Dakota.

QUICK HITS

Max Zenker SS / West Fargo Sheyenne, ND / 2027

Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 2

In his business trip down from West Fargo, Zenker made the most of his opportunity in front of our staff. Zenker displayed rhythm at the plate, ripping off a 98.7 peak exit velo with relative ease. Max improved his run time and arm strength during his showing as well. Name to circle for coaches in the region. 

Brady Waddell SS / RHP / Rapid City Stevens, SD / 2027

2025 Future Games alum, Brady Waddell improved every metric in his game last Saturday. At the plate, Brady had a controlled demeanor, punishing baseballs with upper-90s exit velos. With his arm Brady fired 90+ MPH darts across the infield, with a max of 94. The two-way ran his fastball up to 89.7. Strong two-way potential at the next level.

Jack Tooke RHP / SS / Mandan High School, ND / 2027

Another Future Games alum  proved again why he is a higher level two-way prospect in the Uppper Midwest. On the positional side, the Mandan native juiced baseballs consistantly, maxing out his exit velocity at 104.9 while averaging 98.8. Tooke threw 93 across the infield and has been up to 89.5 last summer. 

Paxton Sohn RHP / SS / Bishop O'Gorman High School, SD / 2027

There had been some buzz around Paxton before his first Prep Baseball showing and the junior from Sioux Falls delivered. Sohn sat in the mid-80s off the mound with a peak of 87.5, showcasing feel for breaking ball in the strike zone. High ceiling, name for coaches to watch through 2026.  

Aiden Herner OF / RHP / Century High School, ND / 2027

An offseason of increasing strength showcased well from Herner this past weekend. The Bismarck native rotated hard in his round of BP, with a top max exit velocity of 102.9 and a max bat speed of 80.4 MPH. Herner ripped off a 6.93 60 time and slung it 90 MPH from the outfield. Physical follow through spring and summer seasons. 

Easton Sabers LHP / OF / Sturgis Brown High School, SD / 2028

Sabers was a Junior Future Games participant back in 2024, where he showed gamer tendencies with the frame you would expect from an 8th grader. Since then Easton has been trending up, increasing his strength and size, and his metrics all around. On the mound, he ran his fastball up to 85 with refined movements, and slung a slider at 75.1 MPH with 15.3" of sweep. Sabers also juiced a baseball up to 96.0 in his round of BP.

Kade Wede RHP / 3B / Harrisburg High School, SD / 2027

Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 2

Wede showcased a polished arsenal. Fastball up to 91, cutter at 86 and a CH/CB with depth on both. 2025 Future Gamer, top uncommitted player in the Dakotas class of 2027. Lots to like about the right-hander out of Harrisburg High School. 

Blayn Hunt SS / 2B Rapid City Stevens High School, SD / 2028

An intriguing switch-hitting bat out of Rapid City, Hunt showcased athletic traits all around the diamond. Hunt worked his exit velo up to 96.2, with loose and easy hands on both sides. The 6.78 runner showed well with the glove up the middle as well. Another interesting follow from the Black Hills.
