Comprehensive Coverage of the 2026 Maryland High School Baseball Season

Throughout the 2026 Maryland high school baseball season, Prep Baseball MD and its dedicated staff will provide extensive coverage of all aspects of the sport across the state. Our coverage will feature Daily Roundup, a daily scoreboard, live scouting at high school games, a maintained Heat Sheet, and ongoing tracking of standout player performances.

Each week, our scouting staff will analyze box scores, consult with high school coaches, college recruiters, and professional scouts to select the Player and Pitcher of the Week. The recipients of these awards will be announced every Tuesday throughout the spring season.  Each player submitted and considered for the Player of the Week Award will be recognized in the weekly Diamond Notes release.  This list of players will allow fans, coaches, and scouts a place each week to follow some of the best performances weekly in Maryland.

To be considered, please look out for our weekly nomination form on Twitter/X and Instagram, where you can nominate the top performances of the week. Those nominations will also select our weekly Player of the Week Award. To be considered, you must fill out the form accurately and follow the directions.

Darian Gaskins, LHP, Boonsboro, 2026

  • Saw 2 appearances last week vs Williamsport and North Hagerstown.
  • Combined Line: 8.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 15 K
  • Senior southpaw committed to Shippensburg.

Tristan Merritt, RHP, Parkside, 2026

  • Another impressive outing against their top rival Stephen Decatur.
  • Line: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 12 K
  • Frostburg State recruit.

Caleb Loring, RHP, Stephen Decatur, 2026

  • The opposite end of the high-stakes Bayside matchup vs Parkside.
  • Pitching Line: 7 IP (CG), 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 10 K
  • Was the winning pitcher in a CG outing, committed to Hagerstown CC.

Leo Antwerpen, LHP, McDonogh, 2026

  • Big-time performance to give McDonogh their first conference win of 2026.
  • Pitching Line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 12 K
  • Duke University commit.

Camden Hunter, RHP, Archbishop Spalding, 2026

  • The best pitching performance of the week due to the game's influence.
  • Won the rubber match against previous #1 Calvert Hall to take the series.
  • Final Line: 7 IP (CG), 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K
  • Still uncommitted, junior right-hander into the upper-80s.

Eric Benner, RHP, Severna Park, 2026

  • Hurled a gem in a must needed win at the Guy Smith Sr. Classic.
  • Final Line: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 11 K
  • Committed to Davidson.

Brandon Toadvine, LHP, Saint Michaels, 2028

  • Two appearances against North Dorchester and MIAA's Glenelg Country.
  • Combined Line: 2-0 record, 8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 18 K 
  • One of the top underclass arms in the state down in the Bayside.

Lee Gisriel, RHP, Sherwood, 2026

  • Shutdown outing in their spring break matchup against Glenelg.
  • Final Line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K
  • Been a reliable No. 2 for Sherwood this spring in the rotation.

Bryce Fulda, LHP, South River, 2029

  • Some would say this performance is pretty good for your first ever start.
  • Final Line: 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K
  • Freshman southpaw who shined in their first varsity opportunity.

Avarice Brown, RHP, Great Mills, 2027

  • Another impressive outing out of the SMAC vs St. Charles.
  • Final Line: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 13 K

Reese Conley, LHP, Fallston, 2026

  • Loud performance to secure a big-time conference win.
  • Struck out 12 batters over five innings, allowing only three hits.
  • Senior left-hander committed to Neumann.

Topher Thatch, RHP, Georgetown Prep, 2029

  • Standout performance as a freshman vs previous #1 Calvert Hall.
  • Final Line: 6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 4 K.
  • Senior left-hander committed to Neumann.

Kory Queen, RHP, St. Charles, 2026

  • Standout performance as a freshman vs previous #1 Calvert Hall.
  • Final Line: 7 IP (CG), 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 3 BB, 15 K
  • Standout at the 2025 Mid-Atlantic State Games.
  • Norfolk State commit.

Cooper Witt, RHP, James M. Bennett, 2026

  • Statement outing so far of the spring with a win over ranked Parkside.
  • Final Line: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 10 K
  • Senior right-hander, committed to Shenandoah University.

Ben Conlon, LHP, Glenelg, 2026

  • Near complete-game shutout against a strong Atholton squad.
  • Pitching Line: 6.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 8 K

Miguel Leon, SS, John Carroll, 2026

  • Maryland Player of the Week recipiant.
  • On the Week: 9-15 (.600), 3 HR, 2B, 8 RBI, 10 R, 4 SB
  • One of the top MIFs in the entire state, regardless of class.
  • Committed to University of Maryland.

Joey Coudon, UTL, John Carroll, 2026

  • Our runner-up for Maryland Player of the Week, a loud week vs Loyola.
  • On the Week: 8-17 (.471), 3 HR, 2 2B, 12 RBI, 9 R, 4 SB
  • Leadoff stick for a John Carroll squad who has been surging.
  • Committed to UMBC.

Cooper DeWaal, SS, Oakdale, 2028

  • Another appearance for the 2028, performed across 4 games.
  • On the Week: 8-14 (.571), 3 HR, 3 2B, 6 RBI, 10 R
  • Hitting .600 over seven games with 6 home runs.

Chase Nemec, UTL, Mount St. Joseph, 2028

  • Another 2028 who is on a scorching start to the spring
  • On the Week: 9-15 (.600), 1 3B, 3 2B, 8 RBI, 3 SB
  • Hitting .500 in the two-hole over 17 games thus far.

Sam Weston, C, Walter Johnson, 2026

Nolan Hooker, SS, South River, 2026

  • Played four games which included a 3-for-4 day vs GP.

  • Slashing .522/.645/1.471 so far this season over 8 games.

Kohen Madden, SS, Allegany, 2027

  • Continues to showcase a physical, high-upside hit tool.
  • On the Week: 8-12 (.667), HR, 7 RBI, 4 R
  • The top uncommitted player in the WestMac conference.

DJ Staub, C, Urbana, 2026

  • Performed exceptional against three top 35 opponents.
  • On the Week: 7-10 (.700), 2 2B, RBI
  • Jumpstarter in the back half of the Urbana order.

Nathan Procopio, OF, Queen Anne's County, 2027

  • Strong first week in first action after coming off injury.

  • One of Curley's top hitters in their series vs MSJ.

  • The top-ranked player in Baltimore County impresses again.

  • Committed to Monmouth, the 2nd ranked catcher in the class.

Christian Adams, OF, St. Mary's Ryken, 2028

  • Made loud contact in three games against Power 25 opponents.

Dylan Irons, INF, Allegany, 2029

  • On the Week: 5-10 (.500), 2 2B, 2 RBI, 7 R
  • Freshman hit tool to watch for in the WestMac.

Ryan Yagesh, INF, Urbana, 2028

  • On the Week: 5-9 (.556), 2 2B, 4 RBI, 3 R
  • Preseason standout on both sides of the ball. Physical 2028.

Dakari Bailey, RHP, Chesapeake-AA, 2027

  • Upside on both sides, pitching becoming much more consistent.
  • Pitching (week): 7 IP (CG), 2 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 10 K
  • Offense (week): 4-for-9, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 SB
  • One of the top two-ways in Anne Arundel County.

Noah McMurray, RHP, Huntingtown, 2027

  • Big time performance on both sides of the ball vs ranked Chopticon.

Jonathan Robinson, INF/RHP, Good Counsel, 2026
