The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout North Dakota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across North Dakota.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Minot or Jamestown at the NDHSAA Class A and B State championship games, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across North Dakota.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Diamond Notes, covering all the bases across the state of North Dakota.

TEAM OUTLOOK

“Coming off a 22–4 record and a third-place state finish in 2025, the Park River Area Aggies enter the 2026 season looking to maintain their status as a premier program despite losing key starters like Isaac Porter and James Larson. The team will rely on a deep pitching staff that posted a dominant 1.26 ERA last year, alongside a promising group of newcomers from the state-champion Babe Ruth program. While the Aggies must fill 8–10 roster spots, their established development pipeline and "big arms" provide a strong foundation for another postseason run. Success will likely hinge on the offense finding its rhythm earlier than last spring to complement their elite pitching. If they can achieve this balance, the 2026 squad has the potential to match the championship-caliber teams of the late 2010s.” – Brett Omdahl, head coach
