Key moments: The Tigers put a run on the board due to an early error. Later in the game King’s Ridge sparked a two-out rally as Chip Glogorski and Jack Brantner added singles and would come around to score on more defensive miscues making it 3-0. Spencer Wood went the distance and held the Landmark offense in check as he didn’t allow a run.
Avery’s Takeaway: King’s Ridge continues to stake their claim as one of the top teams in the state as they remain undefeated. The Tigers bat were relatively quiet against a potent opposing arm talent, but they were able to scratch and claw their way to 3-runs. Spencer Wood did a fantastic job of limiting hard contact and limiting baserunners as he went the distance in a complete game shutout. This was only Landmark’s second loss of the year as they look to bounce back and clean up the defensive miscues with a talented core leading the way.
North Murray @ Sonoraville
Score: Sonoraville win, 11-0
Standouts:
Griffin Long, RHP, 2026, Sonoraville
The breakout spring for 2026 RHP Griffin Long is in full swing.

Tools and athleticism are present with plenty of room to grow in the 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame. @phoenix_shs || #GAHS26 pic.twitter.com/yXgUYGXyud
Key Moments: Loud first-inning from Griffin Long really laid the foundation for a big win, as he struck out the side on 10 pitches while running it up to 95 multiple times in the inning. Weston Clements would set the tone for his big offensive night early with an RBI 2B in the 1st and would end up going 3-for-3 while adding a 3B and 5 RBI. Eli Balliew is the engine that makes this lineup go and that was on display with 3 hits out of the leadoff spot, falling a HR short of the cycle.
Ian’s Takeaway: Griffin Long starts are quickly becoming must-see TV for pro area scouts, and Thursday was yet another outing to build the stock. The former Future Gamer and Kennesaw State commit was dominant from the start, sitting 91-94 while running it up to 95 early with explosive life through the zone that generated whiffs throughout. SL is consistently effective at 76-79 but the changeup is beginning to show as a present plus pitch often. 82-85 with advanced feel and ability to kill spin with arm-side fade that disappears from barrels. The top half of the lineup for Sonoraville has the ability to put up big numbers often with the bat-to-ball skills at the top from Eli Balliew and Tate Broom, who seem to be on-base every time you look up. Weston Clements is coming into his own in the middle of the lineup, and Thursday was a good display of the impact he can bring at times.
Loganville @ Buford
Score: 5-4, Loganville wins
Standouts:
Brantley Carter, 2B, 2026, Loganville
Zac Cuneio, OF, 2027, Loganville
2027 OF Zac Cuneio did not miss here for a LOUD 2B to LC.

Key Moments:This was a highly anticipated Power 25 match up from 2 very different teams in Loganville and Buford. Both offenses have been producing a lot of runs as of late, and last night was no different in a back and forth contest. Devon Nixon gave the Red Devils the early lead in the 2nd, but the Wolves would fight back in the bottom half, putting up 3 runs. Ian Chafin had a quiet, but successful night with a hustle 1B that tied the game at 1-1, then he made multiple run saving plays in the field, including a diving play up the middle to get the lead out at 2B. From there the teams would go back and forth then Brantley Carter came up big with a 3B to left to make it a 4-3 game in the 5th. The Wolves would fight back in the bottom half and Vance Bock delivered a 1B to tie the game at 4-4. Kyle Krause came up with a shutdown inning in the 6th to send it to the 7th tied. Zac Cuneio had the biggest swing of the night to leadoff the 7th inning with a double to left center. Tripp Sapp then worked a deep count and would get him over to 3B on a backside ground ball. Cuneio would then score on a passed ball to take the lead at 5-4. The Wolves had their chance in the bottom of the 7th after Ryan Johansen had a leadoff walk and would get to 2B on a balk. Kayden Quiros was excellent out of the pen for the Red Devils and would buckle down in the bottom half to clinch the 5-4 on a strikeout with the tying run on 2B.
Huddy’s Takeaways: It was good to get to see both these teams square to see where they stack up in the Power 25. Buford’s line up is strong 1-9 and are deeper than I thought on the mound even without Dexter McCleon Jr. I got a chance to see Walker Taulbee in a brief relief appearance and he has ticked up since we last saw him. He has been one of their more consistent arms alongside Carson Reeves, Kyle Krause and Ayden Lockett. The Wolves should continue to take care of business in region play with a top seed headed into the playoffs. As we have said many times before, Loganville will be Loganville. They are going to throw strikes, make the routine plays, and capitalize on mistakes when given. They have a line up full of hitters that work deep AB’s and make the opposing pitchers really work. Jeremiah Reiss will continue to be a big piece for them on the mound and with Jake Boland and Tripp Sapp leading the rotation in region play. They have some big non-region match ups down the road, but keep an eye on that Habersham Central series, those are 2 very similar teams that are scrappy and play baseball the right way.
