2027 Class Rankings Update: Depth, Movement, and Emerging Stars

The latest update to the North Carolina Class of 2027 Rankings is live—and the board is buzzing with movement. Expanded now to the top 315 players, this update reflects strong preseason performances, early spring looks, and ongoing player development.

Over 30 newcomers make their debut after standout off-season and early-season showings, while jumps inside the Top 10, including John Hucko vaulting to No. 3, highlight the impact talent emerging at the top of the class.

With marquee events like the NC/SC Border Battle, the Senior Future Games, and the Tobacco Road State Games on the horizon, the 2027 class is primed for a big spring—and an even bigger spotlight this summer.

Risers to Watch

These players are trending up after strong preseason or early-season evaluations:

  • John Hucko (Charlotte Catholic, NC) – Leaps into No. 3, a combination of tools, athleticism, and polished skill sets accelerating his climb.
  • Tyce Thompson (South Central, NC) – Healthy, Thompson presents a dynamic two-way potential with his bat and defense behind the plate.
  • Miguel Delgado (Eastern Carolina Academy) – VCU commit is an advanced left-handed hitter with an ability to corral a strong pitching staff behind the dish.
  • Zack Wester (Pisgah, NC) – Offseason velocity gains and projectable frame fuel early momentum. The arm worked easy in the Preseason All-State West and has immediately translated to success this spring.
  • Luke Tyndall (Junius H Rose, NC) – Lean, athletic frame with rhythm and athteticism in the swing. The strength and quickness levels took a jump, leading to a bump in his overall grade.

Newcomers Making Their Mark

Over 30 players debut in the rankings this cycle, with early evaluations highlighting their upside:

  • Jason Kuvik (Garner Magnet, NC) – Two way potential with abundant strength on the mound and at the plate.
  • Ethan Gilchrist (Garner, NC) – Healthy and strong. Flashed advanced quickness and strength with the ball jumping out of his hand and off his bat.
  • Jackson Yarborough (Hough, NC) – Arm strength and arm quickness present. Flashed a solid breaking ball. Length in the body with more gains potentially coming quickly.
  • Cooper Parrish (Davidson, NC) – Length in the frame. Quickness in the body. There is reason to like his current levels while dreaming what could be on the way in the near future.
  • Jett Gibbs (Metrolina Christian, NC) – Physical prospect that gives you some options on how to get him in the lineup. Bat leads the prospect with potential power being a front line tool.
