2026 CHSAA Players of the Week: March 5th-14th

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches and others from around our state. If you are a interested in nominating a player, please contact Marc Wagner ([email protected]).

CHSAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: MARCH 5th-14th

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Josh Weaver SS / RHP / Fruita Monument, CO / 2026

Weaver kicks off our first featured Pitcher of the Week after a nearly spotless nine innings on the mound. In Fruita Monument’s first game of the season, Weaver came on in relief and tossed two innings, retiring every batter he faced by way of the strikeout against Vista Peak.

On Saturday, Weaver got the start against Ponderosa and picked up right where he left off, dominating for all seven innings with zero runs and zero walks allowed, surrendering just five hits while piling up another 12 strikeouts in the win.

The Future Games alum is clearly continuing to build momentum on the mound, and he brings plenty of two-way upside as well. At the plate, Weaver is already hitting .429 on the season with two doubles and two stolen bases.

Weaver features a fastball that works around 90 mph with an actively developing arsenal, and he’ll be taking his talents to Cowley College baseball after this spring.

HITTER OF THE WEEK:

Jeter McArthur OF / Riverdale Ridge, CO / 2026

McArthur has quickly become an uncommitted bat to know in the state after belting THREE home runs in a single game last Thursday against Montbello.

The senior turned in a huge opening week of CHSAA play, going 4-for-5 overall while compiling 4 RBI, 3 HR, a triple, 5 runs scored, 2 walks, and a stolen base, good for an eye-popping .800 average to begin the spring.

The multi-sport athlete and centerfielder looks to be a major threat at the top of the lineup for the Riverdale Ridge Ravens, and he’s emerging as a name to watch closely throughout the season.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Leo Royer, Chase Hoelting, Caeden Herrera, Trey Schumacher, Maddox Burnett, Cameron Wiley, Tyler Johnson, David Casillas, Travis Kenz, Ashton Santomo, Gavin Marsh
