Eau Claire Preseason ID: Quick Hits

On Saturday, March. 14th, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin team hosted the Eau Claire Preseason ID showcase at Valley Sports Academy in Lake Hallie, Wis. Around 50 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in Wisconsin.
We have already released a Statistical Analysis for this event, breaking down the top performers in the traditional stat categories. Today, we’ll be highlighting the players who stood out in Lake Hallie within this Quick Hits piece.
POSITION PLAYERS
+ C/OF Logan Hagman (Hudson, 2027): The Minnesota commit brings a strong and sturdy 6-foot-1, 192-pound frame to the diamond. The right-handed hitter operates out of a wide base, moving smoothly to the hitting position before unleashing a free, easy, and exceptionally well-sequenced swing through the zone. Hagman led the entire event in raw power, posting an event-best 105 mph max EV and a 99.7 mph average EV. An outstanding overall athlete who also led the event with a 30.6 inch peak jump and he turned in a swift 6.79-second 60-yard dash proving exceptional twitch, burst and speed to his already impressive profile. Behind the plate, throws to second base were measured at 80 mph, with pop times as low as 2.00 seconds. During bullpen work, Hagman showcased soft hands that found the pocket consistently throughout his work. Hagman is one of the top players in the state and he backed that up with his performance on Saturday.

+ MIF Nolan Mashak (Holmen, 2027): Mashak possesses a strong, sturdy, and well-proportioned 6-foot-1, 177.7-pound frame that will continue to add physical maturity. The right-handed hitter utilizes a controlled move to a balanced and centered launch position before unleashing quick hands and bat that leverages the baseball out front consistently. He generated impressive marks of a max EV of 95 mph and an average EV of 89.5 mph. Mashak showcased top-tier athleticism by posting a 6.73-second 60-yard dash, a mark that led the entire event and tied for the best time in his class. On the dirt, the prospect demonstrated smooth feet with a rangy first step and soft and smooth hands, while throws across the infield were accurate with carry through the target.

+ 1B Eastin Sorenson (Chippewa Falls, 2029): Bringing a wiry and projectable, 6-foot-3, 176.8-pound frame to the event, Sorenson immediately looks the part with tons of upside to the profile. Operating from the right side, he possesses a well-sequenced swing generating downhill plane and consistent barrel feel. Producing raw impact well beyond his years, he explicitly led the 2029 class with a staggering 99 mph max EV and a 71.0 mph bat speed. He also recorded a firm 87.9 mph average EV proving he was consistently on the barrel throughout his round. His overall athleticism is rare for his class as well, pacing the freshman group with a 6.97 60-yard dash and a 24.9-inch peak jump height. Sorenson remains a top prospect in the 2029 class.

The right-handed hitter works from a wide base with a controlled crash into his front side, utilizing a swing that is powerful and twitchy through the ball consistently driving the ball to all fields. He produced a max EV of 91 mph and an average EV of 83.7 mph and those numbers will most certainly tick up as he continues to add size and strength to his frame. He also showcased his athleticism earlier in the day by recording a 7.09 60-yard dash. Defensively, he was smooth and aggressive through the baseball with quality foot and glove work, and his explosive arm strength stood out among his peers as throws home topped 90 mph.

Operating from an upright and narrow setup, the right-handed hitter controls his advance well to reach a balanced launch position on time. Robbins showcases quality feel for the barrel and gets very good extension through contact with a fast swing. He produced a max EV of 92 mph and an average EV of 81.7 mph. Defensively, he is quick turning the ball around behind the dish, where throws to second base were measured at 77.0 mph, with pop times in the 1.95-2.08 range with accuracy and carry through the bag.

He swings with super tight rotation and excellent lower-half usage, producing a downhill path that is short, fast, and direct to the zone. The right-handed hitter operates from an athletic setup and rhythmic load and utilizes a swing that consistently barrels hard line drive contact up the middle. He generated a max EV of 93 mph and an average EV of 86.6 mph. A solid overall athlete, he ran a 7.04 60-yard dash with solid burst and quick turnover once underway. He showed clean transfers while aggressively attacking the baseball during outfield defense topping 82 mph on his throws through home plate. More arm strength is coming once Palecek adds more strength. The Junior backstop also showcased smooth hands and feel for the catching position during bullpen work.
+ C Brody Hall (D.C. Everest, 2027): Hall features an athletic 5-foot-8, 170-pound frame with room to continue adding strength. The right-handed hitter operates from a wide base with good hand separation, unleashing an explosive, downhill barrel path that yields consistent backspun line drives. He recorded a max EV of 92 mph and an average EV of 84.8 mph. A reliable defender who gets his momentum working smoothly toward his target, he recorded a 7.28 60-yard dash to round out his athletic profile. Showcasing versatility on defense, Hall displayed quality actions behind the plate with soft hands and a pop time of 2.04 seconds. He displayed a quick first step with clean hands and action during infield defense as well providing a profile that can play multiple positions including catcher.
TWO-WAY
+ RHP/INF Rhett Lamovec (Loyal, 2027): Boasting a strong and sturdy 6-foot-4, 221.3-pound frame, Lamovec presents a highly physical presence on the mound and in the batters box. The right-handed hitter utilizes a flat and tight path direct into the hitting zone allowing him to consistently drive the ball to all fields. He showcased tremendous impact potential with a 103 mph max EV and 96.5 mph average EV, supported by 75.9 mph average bat speed and a whopping 28.0 g of rotational acceleration that points to a very high-upside offensive projection. Defensively, throws across the infield were measured at 85 mph showing plenty of arm strength to stick at third base. On the mound, the right-hander operates with a simple, controlled windup and a loose arm action that he repeats consistently from pitch to pitch. Tying for the event lead, his fastball sat 90-91 mph and touched 92 mph (1,799 rpm) with the ability to command the ball through all four quadrants. His tight breaking slider played at 76-78 mph and pairs well with the fastball. He rounded out his repertoire with a changeup that played at 77-79 mph (1,337 rpm) with 0.5 inches of average induced vertical break and 15.0 inches of horizontal movement giving him a potential out pitch weapon to add to his arsenal. Operating with an athletic delivery and high knee, his fastball sat 83-84 mph (2,330 rpm) with 17.4 inches of average induced vertical break, while his curveball played at 69-71 mph (2,312 rpm) with two plane break and 16.8 inches of horizontal movement. The heater reached a 2029 class-leading max of 85 mph showing quality feel for the zone as well. He rounded out his advanced arsenal with a sweeping slider that sat 69-71 mph (2,425 rpm) with 22.5 inches of horizontal movement alongside an overall event-best spin rate. Rosemeyer is one of the most intriguing prospects in the state.
