Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference (UCBAC)
Bel Air Bobcats
2025 Record: 8-13
Key Departures: Daniel Pena
A storied program across UCBAC that always seems to stay competitive, the Bobcats look to rebound after a down year in 2025. This roster returns a slew of impact bats and arms from a year ago, departing just one of their bats in the lineup from 2025. An experienced, hungry group looking to build off of lessons learned last spring.
Offensively, Bel Air returns their talented leadoff stick in senior Sean Ferrell, followed by two-way standout Noah Shillman in the 2-hole. A power tandem in the middle of the lineup returns in seniors Braxton Stocking and Sean Roberts, and look for depth to be provided by an intriguing junior group in Kyle Drew, Tyler Fenwick, and Aaeden Troast. Sophomore Nolan Blizzard provided some key at-bats last spring as a freshman and looks to build off of that this year, most likely producing once again in the middle of the order.
On the bump, look for the handful of two-ways to lead the charge in Shillman, Roberts, Fenwick, and Troast, as junior Conner Vecchioni provides depth throughout the rotation. This is a talented staff that looks to rebound from a disappointing 2025 campaign, and the depth on paper certainly points towards some added success in 2026.

2025 Record: 11-10
Key Departures: Tyler adamo, Kevin Emerson
The Mustangs hovered around .500 in 2025, and the return of the bulk of the roster from a year ago points in the direction of more success in 2026. A plethora of senior two-ways and plenty of impact bats returning should see the Mustangs stay competitive in the conference this spring.
Look for seniors Ryan Acra, Brady Perry, and Landon Melnick to solidify the middle of the order, as they did last spring, with depth provided by fellow seniors in Christopher Dietz and Ryan Stem. Sophomore Colin Scurti was a pleasant surprise as a freshman a year ago and should fit right into the middle of the order in 2026, with juniors Eric Penney and Dustin Stem adding key at-bats throughout the lineup as well. Depth, talent and experience will be huge for the Mustangs offensively this spring.
Senior two-ways in Melnick, Perry, and R. Stem should be the headliners of this staff, and a plethora of depth behind them should round out this rotation nicely. Scurti should make another considerable jump this spring and we look for his name to be one to watch all spring long on both sides of the ball.
Elkton Golden Elks
2025 Record: 13-6
Key Departures: James LaManna, Caleb Potter, Taino Jurry, Jeremy Ruth
2025 brought plenty of excitement to Elkton, as the pitching staff was lethal all spring and provided plenty of intrigue while following the Golden Elks throughout the campaign. Turn the page to 2026, and this pitching staff will need to rely on some newfound arms to fill the void left by talented arms such as James Lamanna and Caleb Potter.
This lineup returns a handful of talented bats, led by power-hitting senior Kaleb Kennedy (Coppin State) in the middle of the order. Fellow seniors Chase Monaghan and Daymien Phillips looks to build off their junior campaigns and be a strong middle of the order tandem behind Kennedy. Look for sophomore David Belser to also add some depth in this lineup and be more of an impact bat following some experience gained on varsity as a freshman a season ago.
Like we said before, this staff is turned upside down with the departures of Lamanna and Potter, two arms that were basically relied on in every game a season ago. Look for senior two-way Daymien Phillips to add key innings on the bump with junior Tyler Gibson right behind him. Underclassmen and some new faces will need to step up and eat some innings as well, but replacing the top arms from a year ago is a tall order.
Fallston Cougars
2025 Record: 11-9
Key Departures: Luca Santoro
A team our staff believes has the potential of a deep run in 2026, Fallston returns a slew of impact players on both sides of the ball from a year ago, and look for these upperclassmen to make a statement this spring.
Seniors Zach Loewe and Carter Flanagan return and were proven catalysts a year ago at the top of the order, as fellow seniors Aiden Stromberger and Reese Conley (Neumann) return to provide some thump in the middle of the order. Keep eye son junior Joey Potler and senior two-way Ethan Slicher to provide depth throughout this lineup as well. This Cougars lineup is poised for a breakout 2026 spring, and the experience and balance throughout bodes well for some offensive explosion consistently.
On the bump, a handful of senior two-ways will look to lead the charge, as Flanagan, Conley, and Slicher were reliable a year ago and look to add some even more success in 2026. Junior Ryan Cullison will look to add some nice depth on the backend as well.
Harford Tech Cobras
2025 Record: 11-10
Key Departures: Sam Roney, Hunter Arnett, CJ Scism
Another program that hovered around .500 in 2025, the Cobras enter the 2026 campaign with a slightly different look on both sides of the ball in comparison to last spring, as the departures of a slew of impact bats and their “ace” on the bump have all graduated.
Although the senior departures from a year ago left some holes in this lineup, the Cobras do return a handful of impact bats from a year ago, most notably senior leadoff stick Zach Lane (Alfred State) and two-way three-hole hitter Joshua Hays. The bottom half of the lineup also returns and provides plenty of experience and depth, as seniors Quinton Kron, Aiden Sullivan, Tucker Underhill, Cole Pomilla, and Carter Manera all return and should round out this lineup nicely.
On the bump, the loss of CJ Scism is obviously a big one, however, Hays, Sullivan, Pomilla, Manera, and senior Tyler Walp got some key innings on the bump a season ago and look to add onto that in 2026. Look for Carter Manera to receive the bulk of the big starts, and his fellow senior counterparts to add depth.
Havre de Grace Warriors
2025 Record: 7-12
Key Departures: Bryce Bauer, AJ Rogers, Preston Blum
Another storied program across the UCBAC, you can never count out the Warriors, and look for a bounce back year from them in 2026. Key departures on both sides of the ball hurts, however, this roster construction has some intrigue and we’re excited to see how Havre de Grace fares this spring.
Offensively, a pair of juniors in Chase Blevins and Palmer Spence return and should be reliable bats throughout this lineup, as seniors Nolen Soriano and Lucas Fongemie look to add some thump in the middle of the order. Senior two-ways in Julian Ringgold and Jesse Lane should add depth throughout this lineup as well and provide some well-needed at-bats in the second half of the lineup.
Start-studden arm in Bryce Bauer is gone, so look for the Warriors to lean on their two-way seniors a bit more in 2026. Soriano, Ringgold, and Lane should get the bulk of the innings and look for some underclassmen to take a step up and provide depth on the backend.
Joppatowne Cougars
2025 Record: 7-11
Key Departures: Luke Evans, Alex Swan, Ryan Poynot, Ryan Davis
It was a disappointing 2025 campaign for the Cougars, and look for a much better 2026 spring. This roster returns basically their entire lineup, and pitching rotation from a year ago, therefore, our staff sees an improvement from a last spring.
Leadoff hitter Isaiah Robinson has since graduated, however, that is the most notable loss in this lineup and the Cougars basically return everyone else. Seniors Tyler Stevens and Ryan Miller should be catalysts in the middle of the order, as sophomore standout from a year ago in Conner Figueroa is back and looks to bring the power back to the middle. Fellow sophomore standout Camden Van Horn had a really nice freshman campaign alongside Figueroa and looks to add onto his success as a sophomore in 2026. Junior two-way Charles Madera, sophomore Aaron Case and senior Chase Miller were contributors in the lineup last season and look to build off of that this spring as well.
A slew of two-ways in Stevens, Madera, Figueroa, and Van Horn should headline the rotation, as they did a year ago, and we see this staff finding some more success in 2026 in comparison to 2025. Another year under their belt, look for the rotation to build off of innings received last year.
North East Indians
2025 Record: 6-14
Key Departures: Brysen Keithley, Landon Knaub, Greyson Starling
An intriguing slew of seniors and juniors return for the Indians in 2026, as they look for a bounce back year this spring.
Senior Craig Aubry has been a player that we have liked for some time now, as the two-way should fortify the middle of the order nicely, as a handful of juniors return to add depth in Zayden Keiser, Dom Letts, Finn Gregory, and Cody Shuler. Sophomore Dylan Baum has been one of our favorites in the class, and look for the athletic right-handed bat to make an immediate impact this spring and bring some more consistency to the order. The loss of middle of the order bats from a year ago in Brysen Keithley and Landon Knaub may hurt some production out of the middle early on, however, this junior class should find their footing quickly and produce as the spring rolls on.
As is the same across the conference, the two-ways should lead the way on the bump for the Indians this spring, with the likes of Keiser, Aubry, Shuler, and Garrett Slavin all eating some innings on the bump. Odds on favorite that Aubry is the go-to in big games, and the experience gained from some of these juniors a year ago should bode well for a successful 2026 on the bump.
North Harford Hawks
2025 Record: 18-5-1
Key Departures: Jackson Armiger, Tucker Deal, Matt Hart, Mason French
Some question marks for North Harford early on this spring after coming off of a very successful 2025 campaign, where the Hawks were one win away from a 2A State Title game appearance. A plethora of impact bats from a year ago have since graduated, and potentially being without their top arm in senior Collin Kight makes for this to be a questionable year for one of UCBAC’s most notable programs.
At the dish, junior three-hitter Jedd Carll is back and should solidify the middle of the order as he did a year ago, and hopefully Kight is at least able to swing it and fortify the middle of the order behind Carll. Look for a strong junior tandem in Sean Ellis and Nathaniel Burd to add depth throughout this lineup and provide a spark behind Carll and Kight.
The Hawks enter the 2026 spring most likely without Kight, and the graduation of their other top arm in Mason French make for a tough transition into the 2026 spring. Junior Sean Ellis will most likely hop into a leadership role on the bump and look for some younger talent to step up and eat innings on the backend.
Patterson Mill Huskies
2025 Record: 15-8-1
Key Departures: Noah Thomas
The Huskies seem to always be in the fight in the UCBAC, producing one of the more consistently talented rosters year after year in this conference. A highly talented coaching staff that gets the most out of their players, look for Patterson Mill to make another deep run in 2026, following a tough loss in the 1A State Quarterfinals a year ago.
At the dish, there’s certainly no lack of talent, and it all starts with Tre McInnes (Harford CC) in the heart of the lineup; a talented, physical backstop who has been one of the conference’s best for a few years now. A really nice tandem of junior bats in Logan Sheeler, Keith Reedy, and Mason Hemelt should round out the top/middle of the order around McInnes, as senior standout Jayden Stabile also adds his name to the mix of impact bats in the middle. Junior Brycen Hunter and sophomore Peter Weber are also names to watch offensively this spring and look to take another step forward after experience gained on varsity a year ago.
The Huskies most reliable arm in Noah Thomas has graduated and certainly opens up a hole on the bump, however, look for a handful of talented two-ways to fill that void in 2026. Juniors Logan Sheeler, Mason Hemelt, and Brycen Hunter all look to log big innings this spring, and our staff sees sophomore Peter Weber taking a big step this spring on both sides of the ball. Plenty of depth in all facets, look for the Huskies to be one of the teams to beat this spring.
Rising Sun Tigers
2025 Record: 12-7
Key Departures: Luke Crowl, Zachary VanDyke, Wyatt McDowell, Aiden Mikklas, Walker Ayres
The Tigers were one win away from a 2A State Quarterfinals birth a year ago, and enter the 2026 spring with hopes of making a deep run. This roster will look a bit different, as Rising Sun departs a slew of impact players on both sides of the ball.
Junior standout Dylan Blankenship and senior Ethan Burchard (Frederick CC) return and should solidify the middle of the order, however, the Tigers do graduate their leadoff stick, four hitter, five hitter, and six hitter from a year ago. Senior Jaden Valentine should play a larger role this spring throughout the lineup and the Tigers will rely on him to provide a spark behind Blankenship and Burchard, and look for some underclassmen to add depth throughout this lineup.
Standout lefty Luke Crowl has graduated and the Tigers will look for some depth to fill that void. Blankenship and Valentine look to be the two to eat most of the big innings this spring and we see a successful campaign on the horizon for both.
