The 2026 high school baseball season has officially kicked off, bringing with it a wave of standout performances across the state. Each week, coaches will nominate exceptional athletes for Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, from which we’ll select the top four candidates in each category for a public vote via a Twitter (X) poll. Fans will have the power to crown the weekly winners, while those nominees who don’t make the final cut will still receive recognition in our Weekly Diamond Notes article, published every Wednesday.

Tavis Honeycutt 3B / 1B / Newberry, FL / 2027Honeycutt delivered an exceptional offensive performance this past week, earning Mizuno Hitter of the Week recognition. The 6'4", physically imposing third baseman went 11-for-15 (.733 batting average), driving in 11 RBIs with 6 singles, 1 double, and 4 home runs. He scored 10 runs, stole 6 bases, drew 5 intentional walks, and reached base at an .800 clip.
