2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Tuttle Tigers

Prep Baseball Oklahoma Staff

The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

2026 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 7
No. of Returning Pitchers: 7

Top Returners:

  • Jett McCoy: 3B/OF, SR, 6'2 180, R/R.
    • Long-Athletic guy who can really hit and really run. Electric to watch. Hutchinson CC signee.
  • Hunter Watson: RHP/1B/DH, SR, 6'0 205, R/R.
    • One of best arms in the state with a ton of experience. Up to 94 inside so far this preseason with more to come. Middle of the order RBI guy for us again this year. Great mentor and teammate to younger players. Oklahoma signee.
  • Jackson Johnson: OF/RHP, SR, 5'11 190, R/R.
    • Old school baseball player and energy guy for us. Has made some big time plays for us past 3 years. Great leader and teammate. NOC Enid signee.
  • Bronson Johns: RHP, SR, 5'11 165, R/R.
    • Can really pitch the baseball at a high level. Went through the wringer last year and was awesome in big games for us. Mid to upper 80s FB. NOC Enid signee.
  • Anderson Forrest: INF, SR, 5'9 180, S/R.
    • Switch hitter who can do a lot of different things for us. Really good competitor in the box and really good defensively as well. Western OK State JC signee.
  • Hudson Heathco: 1B/OF, SR, 6'2 210, R/R.
    • Big time guy in our clubhouse. Jumped into a starting role last year and batted 6-hole for us. Should drive in a lot of runs as well.
  • Traylon Barnes: SS/RHP, JR, 6'0 175, R/R.
    • Traylon is electric on the mound. Should be around 90mph consistently with a 4 pitch mix. Also a really talented infielder set to takeover SS duties.

Top Newcomers:

  • Dallin Pratt: OF/LHP, SO, 6'0 170, L/L.
    • Dallin can swing it and does a solid job in the outfield as well. Should be an everyday contributor after being stuck behind some really talented guys last year.
  • Luke Dahlgren: OF, JR, 5'11 175, R/R.
    • Luke has really emerged over the last year and I think will be a guy who opens a lot of eyes. He has some thump at the plate and has really developed into a good hitter. Great arm from the outfield as well.
  • Cooper Busby: C, FR, 5'11 175, R/R.
    • Moved to Tuttle from Fort Supply, OK this summer. He is going to be one of the better catchers in the state a couple years from now.
  • Mesa Dickerson: INF/RHP, JR, 5’11 165, R/R
    • Very smooth hands and feet defensively with a lot of range. Should be a guy that sees a lot of time on the mound. 3-pitch mix with a really good breaking ball.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “It all starts on the mound, and I think we have a really good staff that will give us a great opportunity to compete everyday. Our team speed and lineup experience is definitely something to lean on for us as well. We have a couple spots to fill with guys who've not started for us in previous years. Getting those guys acclimated to the speed of the game is always part of the process. ” – Breck Draper, head coach

Outlook: Tuttle finished 2025 as the 4A runner-up dropping a thriller in the title game to Blanchard. Throughout the year, they showed to be one of the more balanced teams, regardless of class, and return numerous difference makers on both sides of the ball. Offensively, they found ways to score in a variety of ways with athleticism on the bases and extra base hit potential in the middle of the order. We saw them consistently pressure teams, including leadoff man Jett McCoy's straight steal of home as an example. Further, it is a battle tested group that has already seen success at the varsity level. On the mound, they will once again be led by right hander Hunter Watson, a true work horse that has shown the ability to beat anyone. After Watson, they have a handful of guys that can attack opposing hitters whether it be with velo, stuff, or pitchability with their entire mix. A dynamic offense, frontline depth on the mound, and steady defense around the diamond will make Tuttle among the favorites for a 4A title run in 2026.
