Overall Summary
Tualatin enters the 2026 season with high hopes after an early departure in the state playoffs last season. The Timberwolves bring back several key contributors, headlined by senior INF/RHP Trenton Hertzog. Few players will be as key to their team's success as the Oregon commit, who provides a dynamic lefthanded bat in the middle of the order as well as dominance on the mound. Hertzog is the 4th ranked prospect in Oregon's 2026 class and will be in state POTY conversations. Elsewhere, senior SS Owen Hagerman also returns as a key bat near the top of the order. Senior OF and Bushnell commit Calen Simonelic impressed in an in-game look last spring and may see a larger role offensively this spring. Junior 1B/LHP Kye Leenders is another intriguing prospect with two-way ability. The biggest strength for Tualatin looks to be the pitching depth, with multiple talented arms to turn toward after Hertzog. Senior LHP and Chemeketa CC commit Ben Fong is a strike thrower who induces weak contact, while junior RHP Shane Haddad Jr. is more of a power arm who can run his fastball into the mid/upper 80's with some swing and miss stuff. Senior Cole Newton was also used heavily down the stretch and will be a key returning arm. Head coach Jake Austin is circling games against Clackamas and Jesuit to highlight the 2026 schedule. Expect Tualatin to take a step forward this year and be a true competitor at the 6A level.
