2026 WA Scout Blog - Seattle Prep, O'Dea, Mt. Spokane, Central Valley
April 2, 2026
The 2026 Washington Scout Blog provides information and scouting notes from Prep Baseball staff during the WIAA season. The running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects and other notable performers. The Scout Blog is compiled of content and information gathered only from Prep Baseball staff. All featured games in the Scout Blog were attended by staff.
This week, Prep Baseball has travelled across the state, seeing an intriguing 3A matchup at Bannerwood on Monday before heading to Spokane on Tuesday. On Monday, Seattle Prep defeated O'Dea behind a strong starting pitching performance and late offense, while Tuesday saw Mt. Spokane explode with the bats early to cruise to a win. Below are scouting notes on standout performers from both contests.
Seattle Prep vs. O'Dea (3.30.26)
Seattle Prep
'26 RHP Khing Ljutic (Uncommitted)
The uncommitted senior arm was the story of the game in this one, working a CG shutout to secure the Panther victory. Ljutic found some quick outs when in the strike zone, letting his defense work throughout. The lean, medium-framed righty changed speeds well with a four pitch mix, relying more on the FB/CB the first time through the order before really mixing it up the second and third times through. The fastball topped out in the low 80's, mostly living on or around the edges to limit damage. Final line: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 3 K.

'27 INF Ben Cunningham (Uncommitted)
Cunningham was the offensive star of the game for the Panthers, driving in 3 of the 5 runs Monday afternoon. The physical junior looked to have gained some bat speed since a previous look, maintaining rhythm and balance throughout the swing with tighter levers through rotation. The ball really jumped off the bat with flush line drive contact to the middle of the field for both of his RBI hits. Finished 2-3 with a pair of singles, reaching by HBP as well. Middle of the order type power bat that can make an impact at the collegiate level.
'28 OF Angelo White (Uncommitted)
After earning Hitter of the Week honors for the first week of Washington high school action this spring, White continued to swing it well in this look and is elevating his status in 2026. The compact-framed righty roped a double to CF as his offensive highlight, a ball that would have kept rolling to the wall if it hadn't been slowed by the long outfield grass. White also walked and scored twice, working QAB's at the top of the lineup. Defensively, White manned CF well, showing nice closing speed on multiple fly balls toward the gaps and making every play that came his way. Intriguing follow.

'29 INF Griff Reed (Uncommitted)
One of two dynamic freshman that have immediately seen varsity action for Prep, Reed looked comfortable in the infield and at the plate in our first in-game look. The medium frame already can hold its own from a physicality perspective and has a chance to add strength as he ages. The pregame look defensively was especially strong, showing fluid actions and softer hands fit for an INF role. At the plate, Reed collected a hit and looked comfortable seeing higher velocity, with bat speed that should keep developing as well. Reed had a quality showing at the winter's PNW Preseason All-State and will be a regular for SP for years to come.
O'Dea
'26 RHP Lincoln Turner (Everett CC Commit)
The staff leader in the early part of the season for the Irish, Turner looked the part of a front line starter at the HS level with a nice outing on Monday. A long-levered righthander, Turner worked through a steady-paced wind, sinking deep into his lower half with a longer arm swing and finish over his front side. The fastball was especially live early, sitting 86-88 MPH, but settled more 84-86 MPH in the following innings. He relied on a slider as his main secondary pitch at 75-78 MPH, but relied mostly on the heater. The senior worked through 5 innings while allowing just 1 earned run. Turner should continue to be a workhorse for O'Dea for the remainder of the spring.

'28 OF/INF Jack Gonzalez (Uncommitted)
Gonzalez had a quality showcase at PNW Preseason All-State this February, and followed it with a strong in-game look despite a quieter day for the O'Dea offense as a whole. The athletic, wiry-framed sophomore jumped all over one of the first pitches of the game for a line drive single, staying on a pitch down and shooting it back up the middle. Gonzalez reached base twice overall. He saw limited action in CF defensively, but has shown some positional versatility defensively across several looks. He also worked a shorter relief appearance on the mound, where he ran a fastball into the low 80's.

'28 INF/RHP Nolan Barrett (Uncommitted)
One of the better arms in Washington's sophomore class, the 6'5 righthander was at first base in this one and contributed with the bat as well. Barrett's long levers and physical frame allowed for some natural pop from the right side of the plate, resulting in two hard-hit, low launch balls that found holes for singles. Defensively, Barrett flashed some ability with the glove despite a couple of tough breaks on this occasion. Sophomore to circle.

Mt. Spokane
'26 RHP/C Connor Moffitt (Olympic College Commit)
To put it simply, Moffitt delivered a performance like we've never seen on the mound on Tuesday. The swing and miss was on another level, as senior struck out the first 14 consecutive outs recorded in his start. Moffitt's long 6'3 frame moved with fluidity and conviction, creating a steeper angle on his fastball with a higher slot release. The fastball sat 87-90 MPH, thrown harder when deeper in counts as a putaway pitch. Moffitt also mixed in a 76-77 MPH SL with tighter, late break and a looper CB at 72-75 MPH. The senior's final line: 5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 15 K. Moffitt's stellar day was also displayed offensively, where he reached base twice and added 2 RBI from the cleanup spot. One of the best single-game performances we've seen live this spring.

'26 OF Braeden Parker (LMU Commit)
One of the biggest breakout players of 2025, Parker was seen at multiple Prep Baseball events last summer before securing his D-1 commitment late in the year. Parker returns for his senior spring with Mt. Spokane, where he looked comfortable hitting in the three hole and manning a corner OF role that he'll likely see collegiately. The ultra-strong 6'3 frame creates effortless batspeed, nearly leaving the yard in his first AB before launching a 2-run HR to left field later in the game. Parker finished 2-3 with 2 R, 2 RBI and a walk overall. He also showed some nice range defensively at times in RF, with straight line speed present. Must-follow prospect.

'26 C Ben Wiser (Uncommitted)
One of the strongest performances both defensively and offensively, Wiser impressed with his mature, steady demeanor at the catcher position. Wiser stole strikes on the edges with quick moving frames and blocked well, too. Offensively, Wiser reached base twice with a single and a walk, delivering a clutch 2 RBI single in the early innings. The swing showed adjustability with a barrel that stayed through the zone for a long time, paired with balance in the lower half. Intriguing uncommitted senior.
'27 INF Landon Bennett (Uncommitted)
A twitchy athlete perfect for a top of the order sparkplug, Bennett made his impact felt from the get-go on Tuesday. The shortstop displayed quick, crisp actions defensively, moving the active feet well with enough arm strength for anywhere on the dirt at the HS level. At the plate, Bennett displayed a contact-over-power approach and a knack for doing the little things right. Bennett is a key piece for the Wildcats with a well-rounded, athletic skillset.
'26 OF Kyle Rayment (Uncommitted)
Among the best remaining uncommitted outfielders in the senior class, Rayment displayed his skillset that has become familiar across many showcase looks. The 6'3, 180 pound senior has shown 6.6 speed that is fit for CF defense, and was translated with 2 stolen bases as well. At the plate, the ultra-twitchy RH swing carries some sneaky pop, with a shorter, direct path through the zone. Rayment finished 1-2 with 2 RBI, a HBP, and a run scored in this contest.

'26 C Eddie Dahle (Big Bend Commit)
In what was a tough day overall for the Bear offense, Dahle still found a way to have a huge afternoon. The senior and power bat delivered two mammoth doubles, nearly leaving the yard the second time. He then nearly slugged another XBH in his final plate appearance, driving a long flyout. Dahle creates easy loft and bat speed with an upright, relaxed stance and swing operation. The Future Games alum is one of the most imposing offensive threats in the greater Spokane area in 2026.

'26 OF Gavin Ellersick (Uncommitted)
Ellersick collected the other of the three CV hits on Tuesday, displaying some tools in all facets of his game. The compact framed righty starts in a quiet, balanced stance with a wider, low base. Ellersick goes almost no-stride with a direct path to contact, working through a longer one-handed finish. He also has twitchier actions and moves well laterally in the outfield. Key senior for the Bears.
