Florida Rising Stars Games: Quick Hits

The Florida Rising Stars Games took place on Saturday, April 4, at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, FL. The event featured players from the 2030-2031 classes participating in a pro-style workout, followed by gameplay in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

Angel Gomez C / RHP / Homeschool (FL), FL / 2031One of the most well-rounded performers in the event. 84.7 avg EV, 88 mph INF velo, a 1.94–2.00 pop time, and took the mound sitting 80–82. Versatile player and highly competitive. |

Kayden Lucas SS / 2B / The First Academy, FL / 2030Quiet, efficient swing produced an 86 avg EV and 90 mph max at 314 feet. Plenty of room to grow into more as his 6'0" frame matures. |

Gabriel Messing C / 3B / A3 Academy, FL / 2030Posted an 85.2 avg EV with a 92 mph max and 339-foot max distance, the top max distance in the event. The big frame and power give him significant projection as he fills out. Strong arm behind the dish as well. |

Jayden Portes SS / 3B / TBD, FL / 2030Flashed the top max EV of any hitter in the event at 94 mph with an 83.5 avg and 281-foot max distance. Showed an above-average infield arm as well at 81 mph. A lot of pop in a frame that should continue to grow. Very young for the class. |

Tallon Tufariello OF / RHP / Berkeley Prep, FL / 2030Put up the top average EV of the event at 87.8 mph and topped out at 93 mph with a max distance of 335 feet. One of the most physical bats at the event. |

Giovanni Aponte-O'neill LHP / 1B / The First Academy, FL / 2031A three-pitch lefty as a 2031. FB sitting 74–78 with a 1838–2016 spin rate, a CB at 62–65 spinning 1907–1975, and a changeup at 66–70. Plenty of arm to build on as he grows into his frame. |

Brock Bliss 3B / RHP / Gaither, FL / 2031Three-pitch mix with a FB sitting 72–80 and a 1977–2142 spin rate, a CB at 63–66, and a changeup at 67. A projectable 6-1 frame with room to add velocity as he physically matures. Changed arm slots to give hitters multiple looks. |

Colton Chamberlain LHP / OF / St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, FL / 2030Four-pitch lefty mixing a FB at 71–74. Added a well-spun curveball, slider, and changeup. Threw all four for strikes. The pitch mix and strike-throwing ability from the left side stand out. |

Kian Madani RHP / 1B / Jesuit, FL / 2031The biggest frame at the event and the power metrics back it up — 87 max EV with a 287-foot max distance. Physical projection is as high as anyone in the 2031 class. |

Cade Niles SS / RHP / Mount Dora Christian Academy, FL / 2030Ran a 7.19 60, the fastest in the event, and backed it with an 80.2 avg EV and a 79 mph arm. The speed plays at the top of a lineup, and he has the bat to match. |
