On Tuesday, August 18th, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff hosted the Kenosha Summer ID at Simmons Park in Kenosha, WI. Over 10 players participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff.

Today, we will be providing our scouting takeaways on some of the event's top performers.

POSITION PLAYERS

+ OF Alex Baumann (Oconomowoc, 2028): Athletic 5-foot-7, 142-pound frame with room for added strength. Baumann presented a simple operation at the plate with minimal wasted movement and quick hands that work on-plane, generating a peak exit velocity of 90 mph. Quick and active footwork in the outfield and a loose arm generating an outfield velocity of 84 mph out of a ¾ slot. 

+ C/INF Aaron Panyk (Bradford, 2029): Strong 5-foot-8, 177-pound frame. Short, simple movements in the box with quick hands, consistently on time meeting the ball out front, achieving a peak exit velocity of 86 mph. Feel for the pocket on the infield working with quick feet, sharp reactions to both sides achieving a peak infield velocity of 77 mph. Quick transfers behind the plate, works toward second achieving a peak pop time of 2.11 with a 73 mph catcher velocity. 

+ INF Brady Schoenfeld (Indian Trail, 2027): Uncommitted, proportional and athletic 5-foot-8, 156-pound frame. Rhythmic mover in the box, consistently on time with a direct, compact bat path achieving a peak exit velocity of 91 mph. Soft, sure hands and clean/quick footwork on the infield paired with a quick and athletic arm achieving an infield velocity of 83 mph with carry across the infield. 

+ INF Lucas Schroeder (Arrowhead, 2028): Athletic 5-foot-9, 164-pound frame. Works with an open stance in the box and a high leg lift/hover timing mechanism, creating lift on the baseball with backspin, achieving a peak exit velocity of 96 mph. Steady feet on the infield with a two-hand gather with a loose, high ¾ release achieving an infield velocity of 86 mph across the infield with carry. 

+ C Caden Henderson (Arrowhead, 2028): Strong 5-foot-9, 198-pound frame. Works out of a simple, narrow operation at the plate, strong in back hip with a toe-tap timing mechanism. Strong hands with feel to lift the ball in the air to the pull-side, achieving a peak exit velocity of 88 mph. Clean, compact actions behind the plate with little wasted movement working in-line, resulting in consistently accurate throws achieving a peak pop time of 1.99. 

PITCHERS 

+ RHP Jackson Shoemake (Oconomowoc, 2028): Strong 6-foot, 210-pound frame. A simple mover on the mound with a loose, low ¾ arm slot, Shoemake showcased a three-pitch mix, with the fastball working at 81-83 mph, averaging 2,118 RPM and 13.4” of horizontal movement, a curveball, working at 73-75 mph, averaging 2,036 RPM, and a slider at 72-74 mph with short, quick bite.
