On Monday, August 17th, the Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff hosted the Eastern Wisconsin Summer ID at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan, WI. Over 15 players participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Wisconsin staff.

Today, we will be providing our scouting takeaways on some of the event's top performers.

POSITION PLAYERS 

+ INF Owen Rogers (Baraboo, 2027): Athletic and proportional 5-foot-11, 181-pound frame. Operating out of a controlled, downward operation at the plate, Rogers produced one of the louder rounds of the event, producing a max exit velocity of 96.2 mph and a peak distance of 365’. Clean footwork and smooth hands with a low ¾ release produced an 81 mph infield velocity with accurate throws with the feet working towards the target. 

+ INF Ryan Jenkins (Beaver Dam, 2029): Boasting a strong and physical 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame, Jenkins produced consistent hard contact at the plate working out of a well-sequenced approach at the plate, producing a max exit velocity of 95 mph with an average exit velocity of 91 mph with feel to backspin the ball, achieving a peak distance of 359’. 

+ C Arthur Adams V (Bay Port, 2027): Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 92 in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. Operating out of a well-sequenced and on-time operation at the plate, Adams produced loud contact throughout his round to all fields, showcasing feel for the barrel and achieving a peak exit velocity of 99 mph and an average exit velocity of 95 mph. With advanced actions and a strong arm to pair behind the plate, Adams achieved a catcher velocity of 80 mph with a peak pop time of 1.95. Uncommitted name to know. 

TWO-WAYS

+ OF/RHP Patrick Patrello (Madison West, 2028): Athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with room for added strength. At the plate, Patrello provided an intriguing profile out of a slightly open LH setup, utilizing the big part of the field and achieving a peak exit velocity of 93.2 mph with a peak distance of 352’. Athletic mover in the outfield with loose levers achieving a peak outfield velocity of 85 mph. On the mound, Patrello showed athletic movement patterns down the mound with a long and quick arm. His fastball reached up to 82.2 mph playing with some carry through the zone. He mixed in a low-70s curveball that averaged -4.3 inches of induced vertical break and -13.3 inches of horizontal movement, and rounded out his three-pitch mix with a change-up that averaged 16.1 inches of horizontal movement, sitting 74-76 mph. The movement patterns and current repertoire make Patrello an intriguing follow on the mound, and he shows signs of projection yet to come.

+ OF/RHP Quinn Comerford (Xavier, 2027): Long-levered and athletic 6-foot-1, 168-pound frame with more room for added strength. Operating with a rhythmic approach at the plate with whippy bat speed, Comerford achieved a peak exit velocity of 96.4 mph with a peak distance of 370’. Long, athletic strides and whippy levers in the outfield with a ¾ slot produced an outfield velocity of 83 mph. On the mound, Comerford stood out with his loose, athletic movement patterns, clean arm that worked out of lower slot, and his overall three-pitch mix. In this look, his fastball sat in the low-80s, peaking at 84.9 mph, and played with clear arm-side running, averaging 19 inches of horizontal (T24.6 in.). His curveball played with sharp, 11/5 shape, averaged 2458 rpm, -14.1 inches of induced vertical break, and -10.5 inches of horizontal movement, showing swing-and-miss potential. He rounded out his bullpen with a change-up that played with downer action and fade, showing feel to land it to the arm-side. There’s plenty to dream on with Comerford on the mound as he continues to physically develop.

PITCHERS 

+ RHP Charlie Ehlert (Marathon, 2027): Stands in a 6-foot-5, 187-pound well-proportioned frame with seemingly more room for strength to come. He worked out of a stretch-only delivery and stayed simple throughout, showing a clean arm with minimal effort. His fastball sat 83-85 mph in this look, and he mixed in a slider at 74-77 mph with 10/4 shape and sweeping action at times. He rounded out his day with a change-up at 74-78 mph that played mostly straight through the zone. Ehlert is an uncommitted name to follow in the class.

+ RHP Ethan Kratcha (Sturgeon Bay, 2028): Stands in an athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame with room for strength to come. He worked out of a stretch-only delivery and stayed simple down the mound while showcasing a quick arm that worked out of a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 81-82 mph with arm-side run (avg. 17.6 inches HM). He turned to a change-up at 73-75 mph with heavy fade, averaging 19.3 inches of horizontal movement, and a slider with short, horizontal action at 71-74 mph.
