2026 End of Summer Rankings: Class of 2028

After a full summer slate of looks across the Garden State, the New Jersey Class of 2028 impressed with a wide range of talent. Our latest update reflects several prospects making meaningful climbs after showing improved measurables, sharper actions, and competitive performances against quality arms. Most of the top players are still uncommitted with it still being so early in the open recruiting process.
This week we have released the rankings in two installement articles Highest Risers, and Newcombers. The final article of the updated rankings release will be a brief look at the new top 10.

James Fenton RHP / Metuchen, NJ / 2028Fenton's projectable frame, clean/easy arm action, and present velocity have him as the top player in this class once again. At a wiry, athletic 6-foot-4 195-pounds, The ease of movement throughout the delivery paired with strong gameplay metrics (fastball in the low 90s; 51 IP, 92 K, 16 H, 14 BB in 2026) make Fenton a top priority for all Power-4 schools.

Parker Klug RHP / Delbarton School, NJ / 2028Klug came out of the gate firing on all cylinders at the Top Prospect Games in early July and continued that momentum through a strong performance at the Future Games, where he topped at 96 mph with his fastball. Klug's broad shouldered 6-foot-5 225-pound frame and heavy fastball with good feel for a hard, late biting slider at 77-82 make him yet another top arm to come out of Delbarton.

Ty Madden OF / Don Bosco Preparatory High School, NJ / 2028Madden's wiry, athletic frame and hit tool really stood out in his first varsity season in 2026 and he maintained that hit tool through the summer circuit as well. Smooth, easy juice from the left side with measurables that put him among the top of the class.

Luke Dana OF / Wall, NJ / 2028Dana's versatility both on the mound and at the plate make him difficult to put into just one bucket at this time -- but his tools speak loudly at both sides. Up to 91 on the mound and real gap to gap juice. This, paired with his younger age bode well for him in the next two years.

Jack Spitaleri OF / Glen Rock, NJ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 35 / POS: 7
Spitaleri was one of the biggest winners of the summer circuit this year. It's an elite hit tool with both power and barrel awareness. He's a really tough at bat and stood out as one of the top hitters from the Future Games for Team New Jersey. Stocky strong at 5-foot-9 221-pounds, Spitaleri recently committed to Virginia.

Connor Bresler OF / Delbarton, NJ / 2028Recent Boston College commit, Bresler's athleticism and power bat from the right side have solidified him as one of the state's best in the class. Wiry athletic at 6-foot-1 190-pounds, Bresler's ceiling will continue to rise as he adds strength and establises himself as a middle of the order bat for Delbarton in 2027.

Anthony Huaranga 3B / The Stony Brook School, NY / 2028Huaranga is another two-way prospect who is equally as talented on both sides of the field. A fastball into the lower 90s and a big, powerful left handed bat at the plate, Huaranga put together a strong showing at the Future Games both on the mound and at the plate.

Brody Racan RHP / Kingsway Regional High School, NJ / 2028Racan really made a name for himself in the spring for Kingsway, nothcing 25 IP and throwing to a sub 2 ERA. Long, loose arm stroke with a fastball up to 90 and 2400+rpm, expect more velocity to come as he continues to fill out.

Braden Cox OF / Ranney School, NJ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 4
Much like Spitaleri and Bresler before him, Cox posesses elite bat to ball skills. Athletic build at 6-foot-1 193-pounds, Cox's power to all fields was on full display at the Future Games with several extra base hits in gameplay to go along with a solid showing in the showcase portion of the event.

Luca Catanzarite SS / Immaculata, NJ / 2028Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 1
Catanzarite is really fun to watch. Bouncy, athletic in the field, arm and glovework to remain and shortstop and a tough out at the plate - he's truly a tablesetter type player with power and speed. Always on time, Catanzarite's knack for the barrel will certainly be something to watch in a year and he gears up for the national circuit. Recent Duke commit.
