Easley 5 Greenville 2
Greenville fell 5 to 2 to Easley on Tuesday in a tightly contested game that stretched into extra innings. The Red Raiders matched Easley early and battled to a tie through five innings before the game remained deadlocked late. Easley broke through in the ninth with a go ahead double followed by a two run home run to create separation. Greenville showed fight throughout with aggressive baserunning and timely hits, but could not answer in the final frame.

Walker Cox, 2026 RHP/3B, Easley HS, South Carolina Commit
Imposing 6’7” frame with long levers and a notably low-effort operation, showing a clean arm action and easy velocity. Works downhill with natural extension, creating uncomfortable at-bats and late life through the zone. Fastball sat 89–92 mph, touching 95, with the ability to miss bats without overthrowing. Mixed a slider at 78–80 mph with sharper tilt, while also showing a curveball at 76 mph that kept hitters off balance and produced weak contact. Easy mover on the mound with power stuff and feel, projecting as a high-ceiling arm in the 2026 class. Also went 3-for-4 with two singles and a 2R HR, capping a big day at the plate. Balanced setup with a clean, low-effort swing and present bat speed. Stays on plane and through the zone, producing consistent hard contact with feel for the barrel. HR showed ability to impact the baseball with authority.
‘26 Walker Cox as advertised so far. Blowing the FB by hitters while mixing in both a SL and CB producing weak contact. Tall/Physical frame at 6’7 200 pounds.
