NJ Preseason All-State - Session 1: Quick Hits

On March 8th, our staff hosted the annual2026 NJ Preseason All-State: Session 1 at House of Turf in Farmingdale, NJ. Around 100 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of players to follow in New Jersey, as well as a few players from just over the New York and Pennsylvania border.

We begin our post-event content today with our quick hits from the event, highlighting some of the notable players from the day and their numbers.

Position Players

+ SS Alex Perez (Rutgers Prep, 2027) :

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop was one of the event’s shiftiest and most athletic performers. Perez ran a 6.84 sixty-yard dash while reaching a 20.8 mph peak sprint speed,  jumped a 29.1” vertical and jumped an impressive 2.43 RSI. At the plate, Perez showed off the pop with a 103.5 mph exit velocity while driving the baseball back up the middle on a line. Defensively, he showcased his lateral quickness, fleet-of-foot and his 89 mph arm strength across the diamond. The uncommitted junior is a must see talent. 


+ OF Ty Madden (Don Bosco Prep, 2028):

Currently the 4th ranked overall prospect in the state’s 2028 class, the 6-foot, 178-pound outfielder showcased why he is so highly touted. During the athletic testing, Madden ran a 6.81 sixty-yard dash and reached a 21.1 mph peak sprint speed. Offensively, he flashed a smooth, efficient swing that produced a 100 mph exit velocity and 89 mph average exit velocity. Look out for Madden this high school season. 


+ SS Justin Labrador (Immaculata, 2027):

Currently ranked the 10th shortstop in the state’s 2027 rankings, the 5-foot-8 and 151-pound shortstop had a well-rounded performance. Labrador is a twitchy, smooth moving defender that touched up to 88 mph across the diamond. Offensively, he showcased a gap-to-gap approach that peaked at 92.2 mph and had a 46% sweet-spot percentage. The shortstop ran an impressive 6.99 sixty-yard dash displaying his straight line speed.  


2-Ways

+ 3B/RHP Anthony Huaranga (St Peter’s Prep, 2028):

Currently ranked the 5th overall player in the state’s 2028 class, Huaranga ran his fastball up to 91.2 mph with a steady 89.9–90.8 range, showing easy arm speed and intent. The slider at 81–82 mph flashed a late bite, and the changeup (81–82.7 mph) gave him a firm third look. He added a two‑way impact with a 95.4 mph max EV and a 351‑foot peak distance in BP. One of the more well‑rounded performers from this offseason.


+ 3B/RHP Dominic Long (Middlesex, 2027):

Currently ranked the 37th overall player in the state’s 2027 class, Long ran his fastball up to 90.4 mph with an 86–89 range and a 2700+ rpm slider that stood out as a true separator. He mixed a firm 78–81 mph changeup and a 69–71 mph curve to round out the arsenal. At the plate, he posted a 93.8 mph max EV with a 336‑foot peak, showing real strength through contact. A well‑synced two‑way profile with impact on both sides.


+ OF/RHP Owen Hart (Point Pleasant Boro, 2029):

Currently ranked 5th overall in the state’s 2029 class, Hart topped at 89.1 mph with a steady 86–88 range, pairing it with a 74–76 mph curveball and an 78–81 mph changeup for a clean three‑pitch look. He added impact at the plate with a 97.4 mph max EV, 321‑foot peak distance, and an 83% hard‑hit rate. A steady, athletic performer who showed well on both sides of the ball.

+ RHP/SS Logan Bohn (Rutherford, 2028):

Currently ranked 42nd overall in the state’s 2028 class, Bohn worked up to 85.3 mph and held 83.8–85.1 with a steady fastball, pairing it with a 72–74 mph curveball and an 79–80 mph changeup for a balanced mix. At the plate, he flashed real pop with a 91.7 mph max exit velocity and a 346‑foot peak distance, showing the ability to drive the baseball with authority. A solid two‑way showing with competitive feel throughout his session.


+ 3B/RHP Brady Williams (Rumson-Fair Haven, 2028):

Currently ranked 26th overall in the state’s 2028 class, Williams showed real two‑way impact, posting a 97.9 mph max EV with a 358‑foot peak at the plate. On the mound, he topped at 86.6 mph and mixed a 71–74 mph curveball (2303 max spin), a 70–74 mph slider, and a 74–74.5 mph changeup. A steady, athletic performer with strength and feel throughout his session.


Pitchers

+ RHP Preston Pahang (Ocean City, 2028):

Currently ranked 3rd overall in the state’s 2028 class, Pahang showed one of the louder arms in the Northeast running his fastball up to 93.0 mph and holding 91.7–92.7 with 2,548 rpm at peak. His slider at 82–84 mph spun up to 2,809 rpm with late bite, giving him a true swing‑and‑miss weapon, and the 86–88 mph changeup offered a firm third look. A power‑armed profile with real intent and high‑end stuff across the board.


+ LHP Brody Moore (Brick Memorial, 2026):

The West Chester University commit, Moore showed a polished four‑pitch mix, topping at 91.2 mph and sitting 90–91 with a high‑spin fastball (2,832 max). His 74–76 mph curveball (2,388 max spin) and 76–77 mph slider (2,534 max) each flashed shape, while the 80–82 mph changeup rounded out a complete arsenal. A steady, composed outing with feel for sequencing and multiple swing‑and‑miss options. 


+ RHP David Rojas (Don Bosco Prep, 2028):

Currently ranked 9th overall in the state’s 2028 rankings, Rojas topped at 89.9 mph and held 87.8–89.7 with a fastball that carried well through the zone (2,322 max spin). His 76–79 mph slider showed late action, and the 81–84 mph splitter offered a sharp, low‑spin look at 1,045 rpm. A competitive outing with two distinct swing‑and‑miss secondaries to complement the fastball.
