As we have for the past few years, each week we will be highlighting the staff's pick for the VA/DC High School Player of the Week. Each selection is made from a game that a staff member was at the previous week. Our staff saw just over twenty games last week (3/16-3/21) and we voted on who would be bringing home the honors for Week 1.

VA/DC Player of the Week: Chase Blumberg

This week we have selected Chase Blumberg. The Atlee right hander threw a complete game shutout in his first outing of the year. In addition to the shutout, the VMI commit did it against the #15 Glen Allen Jaguars. Blumberg threw 66% strikes during the outing, allowed only one hit, walked two, and struck out six. The senior made a big statement for the Raiders as they took their first step in the journey back to the state title game. Take a look below to see more on Blumberg.
