Over the next few weeks, leading up to the beginning of the 2026 MD High School season, our staff will be releasing our Preseason Power 25. This list will be comprised of public and private schools across the state that we feel have a strong chance of being successful in 2026.

#19 Allegany Campers   

When you think about the 1A Classification, you always have to consider the Campers as being a team that will make a run year in and year out. Nothing was different in 2025, as Allegany steamrolled the classification en route to a state title. Turn the page to 2026, and this roster makeup looks to be a strong one once again. Junior two-way Kohen Madden broke onto the scene a year ago and has certainly added his name as one of the top two-way 2027s this state has to offer, solidifying the middle of the order offensively and leading the pitching staff on the bump. The Campers bring back their 2,3, and 4 hitters from a year ago in a solid tandem of juniors in Cole Ricker, Madden, and Kane Williams, and will look for some added thump in the lineup from sophomore two-way Liam Buck. 

The loss of Myles Bascili to graduation hurts on both sides of the ball, as Bascili was the catalyst at the top of the order and a reliable arm on the bump; however, look for the Campers to reload on both sides with some younger talent as they do every year. If this strong junior class can stay consistent through the playoffs, look for Allegany to make a strong run once again in 2026.
