Prep Baseball Kansas Staff

The Kansas high school baseball season kicks off on Mar. 19, opening day for regular season action under KSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “Rock Creek returns two All-State players from the 4A State Runner-Up in 2025 in outfielder Jordy Scott and Pitcher/1B Brock Lubbers. Those two combined with All-League SS and Pratt signee Peter Martinie will combine with returning starters Palmer Martinie (OF), Noah Valburg (OF - Honorable Mention All League), and Wyatt Wells (3B - HM All League) to lead the Mustangs in 2026. Rock Creek must replace over 100 innings pitched on the mound in 2025 as Ryker Zoeller (Tabor) and Cooper Sieben (Hutch) both graduated as well as All-State catcher Drew Becker (Cowley). Depth on the mound is a big concern for the Mustangs but they have several arms that will compete for innings behind All-State arm Brock Lubbers.” – Shane Sieben, head coach
