FROM TUESDAY (2.24.26)

+ ALCORN CENTRAL VS. MYRTLE

Alcorn Central blanked Myrtle 5–0 on Tuesday behind a dominant shutout from Thomas. The Golden Bears struck early and built their lead in the second inning, highlighted by run-scoring hits from Thomas and Depoyster. Thomas also led the way offensively with two RBIs while working efficiently on the mound, and Alcorn Central added pressure on the bases with five stolen bags. The Golden Bears will travel to Baldwyn on Friday for their next contest.

+ SMITHVILLE VS. SHANNON

Shannon pulled off a dramatic 8–7 walk-off win over Smithville on Tuesday, rallying from an early five-run deficit to seal it in the bottom of the seventh. Trailing 7–2 after three innings, the Raiders chipped away before capitalizing late as a walk and a Smithville error brought home the winning runs. Stephens was dominant out of the bullpen, tossing four scoreless innings, while also driving in two runs at the plate. Lindley paced the offense with three hits, and Shannon showed patience by drawing eight walks in the comeback victory.

+ WARREN CENTRAL VS. NORTHWEST RANKIN

Northwest Rankin pulled out a thrilling 5–4 walk-off win over Warren Central on Tuesday, capitalizing on a late defensive miscue in the bottom of the seventh to plate the final two runs. The Cougars first struck in the third on an RBI double from Barthel, then weathered a three-run sixth inning by Warren Central before mounting the late rally. Page earned the win in relief with 1.2 scoreless innings, while Barthel and Phillipson each posted two-hit performances to pace the offense. Northwest Rankin also played clean defense throughout, committing no errors in the one-run victory.

+ LUMBERTON VS. PURVIS

Purvis erased an early deficit and pulled away late to earn an 8–3 win over Lumberton on Tuesday. After falling behind 3–0 in the first, the Tornadoes took control in the fifth inning, capitalizing on a key hit from Teater and a Lumberton error to grab the lead. Shattles was dominant in relief, striking out 12 over six scoreless innings to earn the win, while Purvis’ offense was paced by multi-hit performances from Witt, Teater, and Shepherd.

+ COLUMIBA ACADEMY VS. LAMAR

Lamar pulled out a marathon, 10-inning walk-off win Tuesday, edging Columbia Academy 8–7 in a back-and-forth battle. The Raiders tied the game multiple times, including a run in the bottom of the ninth on a passed ball, before sealing the victory in the 10th when Putman drew a bases-loaded walk. Lamar showed patience all night with 12 walks and got key contributions from Lancaster, Brady, Whitcomb, and Weir, while Calvert earned the win in relief. Columbia Academy collected 13 hits and stayed aggressive on the bases, but Lamar’s late-game resilience proved to be the difference.

+ EAST WEBSTER VS. KOSCIUSKO

East Webster rallied late to earn a 6–4 road win over Kosciusko on Tuesday. After Kosciusko capitalized on an early error to take a first-inning lead, the Wolverines erupted for five runs in the seventh to flip the game. Gaskin paced East Webster both on the mound and at the plate, driving in two runs, while Yates and Grimes each collected two hits. East Webster’s pitching staff limited Kosciusko to just a handful of hits, and the Wolverines now turn their attention to a home matchup with Choctaw County on Friday.

+ ST. STANISLAUS VS. PASCAGOULA

St. Stanislaus outlasted Pascagoula in an 11-inning thriller, pulling away for a 10–7 win on Tuesday. Dartez set the tone early with a two-run homer in the first and showed discipline all night with three walks, while Murphy delivered a huge performance at the plate, going 4-for-7 with three RBIs. After Pascagoula tied the game in the seventh, the Rockachaws broke through in the 11th to seal it. Murphy earned the win with four scoreless innings in relief, and St. Stanislaus finished with 16 hits before turning its attention to Pensacola Catholic on Friday.
