Welcome to the IHSA Daily Roundup, where our Prep Baseball Illinois staff will provide readers with scores, game recaps, and highlights from the games that took place the day before. In conjunction with our comprehensive in-game coverage throughout the 2026 season, we’ll publish this Daily Roundup to keep readers informed on the latest happenings across the state.
We obtain most of our scores by following teams on GameChanger, as well as through MaxPreps and Twitter. Coaches are also able to submit their own team’s box scores to us via email at [email protected], or through our IHSA Submitted Scores form, which they’re able to request by emailing our staff or by sending a us a DM over Twitter. Bukovac also performed well on the bases by stealing four bags. The Tigers swiped a total of ten bases in today's contest, including three from Rhys Gierich (2027) and two from Zane Maxwell (2026). Tony Eberlin (2026) got the win and tossed six innings striking out 11 batters.

Asher Pruemer (2026; Kaskaskia JC Commit) finished it off and struck out two of the three batters he faced.

Klein got the start, going six innings, only allowing on runner on via HBP, and striking out three. Ford pitched a shutout inning in relief, walking two and striking out one. There was plenty of production at the plate for Mascoutah, with Nolan Lebert (2026, Olivet Nazarene; 2-for-3, 3B, BB, 2 R, RBI), Gabe James (2027; 2-for-4, 2 R), and Darren Klein (2027; 3-for-3, BB, 3 R, RBI) all having multi-hit games at the plate. CJ Epps (2027; 1-for-3, 3B, BB, 3 RBIs) and Carson Moll (2026, Rend Lake; 1-for-2, BB, R, 3 RBI) each drove in three runs of their own on the way to the win.

Other key players include Kyle Linneman (1-for-3, 1B, BB, SB, 3R), Logan Klein (BB, SB, R), J.P. Stewart (1-for-2, 1B, BB, SB, 2R), and Jacob Gritmaker (2BB, R), who all knocked in an RBI. Otto Horner was another key contributor going 2-for-3 with two singles, two walks, two stolen bases, four runs, and two RBIs. Horner also had a nice relief performance on the mound when he tossed two shutout innings and struck out four batters.

Other contributors include Pierce Placher (2027) and Truman Tyra (2026), who each knocked in an RBI single. Isaac Babbs threw four shutout innings and struck out three batters. Ryder Rennette (2028) had a nice one-inning relief appearance by striking out the final two batters of the game.
