Queen Creek came away with a 3-1 win over Highland in a tightly played pitcher’s duel behind a complete game effort from Daniels. The Bulldogs struck first in the third, then regained the lead in the sixth on Schneider’s go ahead single after Highland had answered earlier in the game. Queen Creek finished with nine hits, played clean defensively, and leaned on timely offense to secure another ranked win.

Desert Ridge (#11) (10) vs. Higley (4)
Desert Ridge broke open a back and forth game with a four run fifth inning on the way to a 10-4 win over Higley. The Jaguars built an early lead, saw Higley battle back to tie it, then responded immediately with a big swing inning fueled by extra base impact and pressure on the bases. Desert Ridge piled up 16 hits in the win and got a steady six inning start from Taylor on the mound.

Corona del Sol picked up a strong ranked win on the road, taking down Millennium 5-1 behind a big all around night from Tom. The Aztecs jumped in front early on Tom’s two run homer in the first, then let the pitching staff and defense take it from there. Corona del Sol turned two double plays, played error free baseball, and got quality work on the mound from both Tom and Floyd to close it out.

The Firebirds scored early, answered after ACP moved in front, then capitalized on a late mistake to pull back ahead. Long gave Chaparral six solid innings on the mound, while Mangini closed the door to lock down the one run win.
