Kansas Class of 2026 Rankings Update: Preseason Edition
March 27, 2026
After our largest preseason showcase turnout of all time, the Prep Baseball Kansas staff has once again updated the state’s 2026 rankings. Following a massive mid-fall update, we made more substantial adjustments as we head into the season.
While the top of our rankings remains mostly unchanged, this update features several newcomers and notable risers after strong showings throughout the preseason circuit. Below, we take a deeper look at the movement within the class and highlight standouts from the preseason showcase circuit.
We have said it before and we will say it again: the 2026 class is one of the most talented of all time. With 17 (and possibly more) seniors already being scouted by professional clubs this spring, there have never been more pro prospects in the state.

Risers
|
Nolan Bell RHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 36 / POS: 12
Bell has always been one of the top pitchability pitchers in the state, locating three pitches and mixing in one of the top sliders as well. Bell has gone to a new level this spring with the addition of velocity, recently hitting 88 mph at the MOKAN Preseason All-State and 89 mph in-game in Oklahoma. The Johnson County commit will be a tough matchup for any team this spring. |
|
Gavin Perez LHP / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 4
Perez missed some time off and on over the last year, but is back and looking better than ever. The lefty still shows a smooth delivery with a clean arm action that is already producing fastballs up to 88 mph, with what appears to be more in the tank. After a stellar showing at the MOKAN Preseason All-State, Perez quickly committed to KCKCC. |
|
Steven Zimbelman 2B / RHP / Basehor-Linwood, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 38 / POS: 1
Nobody in the class has added more arm strength over the last six months than Zimbelman. The two-way prospect shined on the mound at the MOKAN Preseason All-State, where he held 91 mph for his entire bullpen. One of the top uncommitted players in the state won't stay uncommitted for long. |
|
Cayden Lindsay OF / RHP / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 61 / POS: 9
Lindsay is another two-way prospect that stood out on the mound this preseason. At the Engaged Athletics scout day, the right-hander pounded the zone with strikes up to 87 mph, with what appears to be much more in the tank. |
|
Zach Noonan OF / Blue Valley West, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 77 / POS: 15
Noonan made the biggest jump of any position player in these rankings. He showed major increases in every single statistical category, displaying advanced tools across the board. He is a must-see for colleges this spring as he hits in the two-hole for Blue Valley West and patrols center field. |
Newcomers
|
Ivan Reid RHP / Life Preparatory Academy, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 20
Yet another standout two-way prospect, Reid makes his debut in our rankings just outside of the top 50. Reid shows quick-twitch athleticism in the outfield, but it is his work on the mound that makes him a must-see college prospect. The right-hander was all over the zone with an explosive fastball up to 88 mph and a late-breaking curveball in the upper 70s. There is more velo to come for Ivan as he adds weight. |
|
Joshua Severino 3B / SS / Life Preparatory Academy, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 118 / POS: 11
Making his first appearance in our rankings, it's all about the power potential in this right-handed hitter's bat. Severino took a solid round of BP at the Wichita Preseason ID, where he really got into a few balls, posting a max EV of 98 mph. |
|
Elijah Keiter RHP / OF / Andover Central, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 124 / POS: 32
We got our first look at Keiter at the Wichita Preseason ID, where he showed a rare combination of tilt and sink on his fastball in the mid-80s that is going to make it very difficult for hitters to square him up when he is in the zone. |
|
Fermin Broce C / 1B / Life Preparatory Academy, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 128 / POS: 16
The power-packed catcher uses his strength well on both ends of the ball. The right-handed hitter showed power potential with the bat with EVs up to 100 when he was on time. He also showed strength in his hands as he stood out as a receiver during 'pens. |
|
Drew Moore 1B / OF / Washburn Rural, KS / 2026Rankings StateRank: 169 / POS: 10
The left-handed hitter jumps back into our rankings after showing an eye-popping increase in power and bat speed at the Engaged Athletics scout day. |
