Marshall 8, Chantilly 3

After an hour-long delay, the Marshall Statesmen took a win over the Chantilly Chargers 8-3. The game was dominated by the Statesmen. They struck early, jumping out to an 8-1 lead after the first four innings. On the offensive front, Marshall was led by ‘28 Luke Torres, ‘26 Jonah Maco, ‘26 Anders Peterson, and ‘27 Andres Solarte. ‘27 William Jacobi had a quality start, going six innings, only allowing one earned run, with six punchouts. ‘26 Kevin Wozniak started for the Chargers, battling through two frames. ‘28 Benjamin Mattiello and ‘26 Gavin Kenney followed Wozniak out of the bullpen. ‘26 Tanner Garey (Richard Bland) and ‘27 Conor Kelley led Chantilly’s offense, both with RBI singles.

Highland Springs 14, Maggie Walker 5

The saying “good things happen when you put the ball in play” rang true tonight for the Springers. Throughout the game, they consistently put bat to ball, finding ways to get on base and push runs across. After Highland Springs jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first, Maggie Walker responded with a five-run third inning. That rally featured multiple hits, including a double from freshman Chase Kinnier and a single from the dangerous bat of Lewis Dunn. From that point on, it was all Highland Springs. The Springers rattled off eleven unanswered runs to close out the game, sparked by an inside-the-park home run from Richard Bland commit Alston Archer. Just two batters later, sophomore Elijah Archer, one of the top hitters in the state, laced a rocket to the wall in right field. Maggie Walker’s offense couldn’t regain its momentum after the big third inning, as Highland Springs pulled away for a 14-5 win.

Brookville 8, Rustburg 7

The offenses for Rustburg and Brookville came alive early. After a quiet first inning, the bats erupted in the second, with Rustburg plating three runs and Brookville answering with three of their own. The game turned into a back-and-forth battle over the next few innings, with Rustburg holding the lead through four innings. Brookville broke through in the fifth with a go-ahead four-run inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from junior John-Parker Newman and an RBI double by senior Aiden Munshi. From there, Brookville held on to secure an 8–7 win.

Nansemond River 6, Lakeland 1

Nansemond River Varsity Warriors secured a 6-1 victory over Lakeland. Warriors scored in the 1st inning and stayed ahead the whole game. Evin Stevens and Jackson Martin (Virginia Wesleyan) led the offense with two hits and two RBIs, Ian Wilcox earned the win, allowing just one run over six innings, as the Warriors controlled the game early and never looked back.

Powhatan 8, Monacan 8

This was an eventful game that had its ups and downs. Brady McCormack got the start for the Chiefs and kept them in striking distance to start the day off. Grayson Morris contributed with a solo homerun for the Monacan offense. It was a multi-hit day for Zachary Bilthuis and Aiden Tuck as they paced the Powhatan offense as run producers. Landon Garland gave Powhatan a quality start on the mound working deep into the outing. The Chiefs rallied back in the bottom of the seventh to tie things up at 8-8, but running out of daylight put a halt to this game ending in an 8-8 tie.

#11 James River (Midlothian) 6, Manchester 4

For most of the night, the Rapids were in firm control of this one, that was until Easton Butts (Lynchburg) hit a three run homer to tie it up in the top of the fourth. Outside of Butt’s homer, there was not a ton of offense that was strung together for the Lancers. Manchester errors and timely hitting were areas that were very beneficial for James River. Wil Camera had a two run homerun in the second to open up the scoring, and Jayden Grant (VMI) had a double that would give the Rapids the lead back in the bottom of the fourth. Camera was the only Rapids player that recorded multiple hits on the night. Nate Reed (William & Mary) allowed one earned run over 3.1 innings and Camera got the win in extended relief.

Greenbrier Christian 11, #13 Cape Henry Collegiate 2

Ryan Watson put on a dominant performance, hitting three home runs and driving in six runs to lead Greenbrier Christian Academy to an 11-2 win over Cape Henry Collegiate. The Gators jumped ahead early with a three-run second inning and added to their lead with more runs in the third, highlighted by home runs from Watson and Cam Kaliher. Watson continued his big night with a three-run homer in the fourth and another long ball in the sixth. On the mound, Zach Tew earned the win with five solid innings, while Watson added two scoreless innings in relief. Greenbrier’s offense racked up 11 hits, while playing error-free defense.
