PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA POWER 25 RANKINGS (WEEK 7 UPDATE)

The Louisiana high school baseball season kicked off on Monday February 9, 2026 with regular season action beginning under LHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2026 spring season, touching on programs spanning all classifications, counting down through the official Prep Baseball Louisiana Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Since Opening Day, our scouts have been out and about covering the 2026 season and will be publishing scout blogs and additional in-season content, such as our Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, Scout Blogs, Diamond Notes, and more.

The Top 5

For the first time this season, there was zero movement within the Top-5 of our Power 25 Rankings. Barbe checks in at the top spot again after going 3-0 last week to improve to 26-1 on the year. The Bucs swept Acadiana and then beat Sam Houston by a score of 4-2. The two teams will meet again this Tuesday night. 

Brother Martin stays at the #2 spot this week after going 1-2 last week. The Crusaders split their district series with Jesuit and then lost to John Curtis Christian. They'll have a chance to get revenge against the Patriots on Tuesday of this week. 

Catholic BR went 2-1 last week and are now 23-3 on the season. The Bears beat Liberty and then split a district series with Central BR.

Benton improved their overall record to 21-2-2 ater winning all three of their games last week. The Tigers scored a total of 33 runs last week on route to taking down Haughton and then sweeping Evangel Christian Academy. 

Sam Houston stays at #5 after going 2-1 last week to improve their overall record to 20-7 on the year. The Broncos swept Carencro last Tuesday before dropping a close 4-2 game to district-rival Barbe.

 

Risers

 + Hahnville moves up another spot this week to #13 and are riding a twelve game winning streak entering Week 8. Junior Koa Romero earned the win on the mound last week against Parkview Baptist, striking out 10 over 5 innings, and also went 5-for-8 (.625) at the plate with a home run, triple, and 6 runs batted in.

+ Brusly jumps up four spots this week to #19 after going 3-0 last week to improve to 21-5 on the year. Senior Aubrey St. Angelo earned a win and a save on the mound last week after tossing 8 innings and allowing 0 earned runs with 8 strikeouts. The Nicholls State recruit also went 5-for-10 (.500) with 2 doubles and 3 runs batted in.

+ Opelousas Catholic enters Week 8 riding a ten game winning streak and check-in at #24 in our Power 25 Rankings. Junior Myles Collins went 3-for-9 (.333) with a home run and 5 runs batted in last week for the Vikings.
