2026 Prep Baseball Minnesota Player of the Year Watchlist

Andy Judkins
State Director, Prep Baseball Minnesota

Prep Baseball Minnesota is committed to being the most comprehensive source of player information in the state. As the leading resource for high school baseball in every state we cover, we provide in-depth coverage through events, an on-the-ground scouting staff, daily content, and multimedia platforms. Our integrated approach makes us the most effective platform for high school baseball promotion at the state level.

Unlike organizations with a broad national focus, we prioritize in-depth, local coverage to be the authoritative voice for high school baseball in Minnesota.

As we gear up for the 2026 season, we will highlight five top candidates for Prep Baseball Minnesota’s Player of the Year.

2026 PLAYER OF THE YEAR WATCHLIST

(In Alphabetical Order)

Noah Asuma SS / 3B / Cherry, MN / 2026

One of the most athletic players in the state, Asuma shines on the hardwood and is one of the top bats in Minnesota. The toolsy middle infielder will look to keep Cherry rolling this spring before heading to the Gophers next year.

Connor Finn LHP / OF / Mahtomedi Senior High, MN / 2026

Mahtomedi enters as the reigning Class 3A state champion with the state’s top draft prospect on the roster. Finn stood out at Prep Baseball’s Super 60, showing a fastball in the low 90s that tops at 94 mph. A true two-way talent, he will be counted on to lead on the mound and contribute offensively.

Andrew Gette RHP / 3B / Mounds View, MN / 2026

One of the most established players in the state, Gette is poised for another dominant spring. The reigning Star Tribune All-Minnesota Player of the Year has helped lead Mounds View to three straight state tournament appearances. He will look to guide the Mustangs back again this season.

Parker Killian RHP / OF / Chaska High School, MN / 2026

Chaska is a team to watch with Killian leading the way. He may feature the best overall stuff in the state and impacts the game on both sides of the ball. When not on the mound, he contributes offensively. His presence gives the Hawks a strong push toward a Section 2 4A title.

Hudson Ohm RHP / OF / Zumbrota-Mazeppa Senior High, MN / 2026

A well-known name in the southeast, the Gopher commit features a strong right-handed arm that stands out on the mound. Ohm will also be a key offensive piece for Zumbrota-Mazeppa. After a state tournament run two years ago, he will look to lead the Cougars to a section title.
