Every week, coaches around the state submit their nominations for the Prep Baseball California Player of the Week for NorCal and SoCal. Week 3 Players of the Week honors went to Ezekiel Lara (Mater Dei, 2026) and Rallin Covey (Sacred Heart Prep, 2026). Lara had a monster week at the plate during Mater Dei's trip to Texas. The outfielder went 7-for-11 (.636) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, and 10 RBIs. Covey struck out eleven batters across six innings while allowing just one earned run. The USC commit now has 21 strikeouts and only two earned runs in 11 innings this year.

With several other impressive performances across the past week that were in the mix for both awards and deserve recognition, here is a rundown of some of the other standouts of the week. If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please be sure to fill out this form before noon on Mondays.
