NOTABLE RECAPS FROM THURSDAY
#3 Crimson Cliffs (2) vs. #5 Maple Mountain (4)
In a Top 5 showdown under the lights, the Maple Mountain Varsity Golden Eagles showcased a balanced attack and a clinical pitching performance yesterday to secure a 4–2 victory over Crimson Cliffs. The Golden Eagles' offense was ignited by Mitch Walker, who launched a home run and drove in two in the 1st inning, while Jeremiah Hall set a high-energy tone at the top of the lineup with two hits and a stolen base. On the mound, Kavyn Carter was nearly untouchable, tossing a complete game with nine strikeouts to keep the Crimson Cliffs bats at bay. Crimson played with great competitive focus, receiving a multi-hit performance from Cutter Christensen and a resilient six-inning effort from Madden Smith, who struck out 11. Despite the late-inning pressure, Maple Mountain's defensive poise and timely power hitting proved to be the difference-maker in this high-level matchup.

#9 Mountain Ridge (5) vs. #23 West Field (2)
Mountain Ridge continued their strong early-season form yesterday with a hard-fought 5–2 victory over the West Field Varsity Longhorns. The Sentinels’ attack was once again ignited by Cooper Goff, who stayed red-hot at the plate by launching a home run and a double to drive in two runs, while Ryker Morton provided a nice lift with a double and a stolen base of his own. On the mound, Karson Fankhauser delivered a focused start to earn the win, striking out four over five solid innings. West Field played with great competitive energy, finding a spark from Wyatt Penrod, who connected for a solo home run, and a fantastic relief appearance by Wyatt Hansen, who surrendered only one run over six innings of work. Despite the Longhorns' efforts to keep the pressure on, Mountain Ridge’s early offensive production and defensive poise allowed them to secure another impressive win.

#8 Corner Canyon (13) vs. #16 Alta (7)
The Corner Canyon Varsity Chargers put on an absolute offensive clinic to outlast the Alta Hawks in a high-scoring 13–7 slugfest. The Chargers were powered by a massive performance from Levi Hines, who blasted two home runs (one from the right side, another from the left) and drove in five runs to lead a 15-hit attack. Bowen Bodily also showed incredible poise at the plate, reaching base safely in every appearance and scoring three times, while Lincoln Eure contributed both an RBI and a strong relief effort on the mound to close out the game. Alta played with immense heart and displayed plenty of power of their own, receiving home runs from Ian Alvey, Kaden Goodsell, and McCoy Johnson, but they simply couldn't keep pace with the Chargers' relentless scoring. Carson Paulsen earned the win for Corner Canyon, striking out seven in a game defined by aggressive hitting and championship-level energy from both dugouts.

Skyline (4) vs. #11 Dixie (5)
The Dixie Varsity Flyers showcased their trademark resilience in a nail-biting battle, edging out Skyline with a 5–4 victory. The game was a true testament to the Flyers' competitive heart, anchored by a masterful complete-game performance from Carson Hunt, who struck out six and allowed just two earned runs while also helping his own cause with a clutch double. Skyline played with incredible energy and poise, receiving a dominant outing on the mound from Mason Papadakis, who racked up nine strikeouts, and an offensive spark from Peyton Papadakis, who connected for a double. Despite Skyline’s late-inning pressure and a strong defensive showing, Dixie’s ability to capitalize on key opportunities—led by the steady bats of Weston Gilmore and Dawson Bolander—allowed them to hold firm and secure the win in a classic championship-style matchup.
