Prep Baseball Louisiana: 2026 Diamond Notes (Week 3)

The Prep Baseball Louisiana Diamond Notes serves as an opportunity for our staff to highlight players, from across the state, that put up impressive performances on a given week, yet fell short of our Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week honors. 

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches from around the state.  If you are a coach and are interested in submitting a player for our weekly Player of the Week awards, please contact State Director Alex Armand at [email protected].  Our Diamond Notes will be released each Wednesday throughout the high school spring season.

 

Pitcher of the Week (Week 3)

Logan Maricle LHP / 1B / Grace Christian School, LA / 2028

Rankings  StateRank: 22 / POS: 3

Against Class 5A Ouacita, the sophomore southpaw tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout with just 1 walk and an eye-popping 20 strikeouts to lead Grace Christian to a 3-0 victory.

 

 

Player of the Week (Week 3)

Barrett Coody 3B / 1B / Rosepine, LA / 2027

Rankings  StateRank: 20 / POS: 2

The former Future Gamer and Northwestern State commit went 11-for-18 (.611) on the week, launching two home runs, while adding four doubles and a triple with nine runs batted in and seven runs scored.

 

 

Other Notable Performances (Week 3)

Mason Rogillio C / West Feliciana, LA / 2027

The former Future Gamer went 10-for-14 (.714) with 2 home runs, 5 doubles, and 13 runs batted in for the Saints in Week 3.

Alex Richardson RHP / SS / Belle Chasse, LA / 2026

The Southern Miss recruit was stellar for the Cardinals last week. Richardson tossed 8 innings and allowed 0 earned runs with only 2 walks and 18 strikeouts. He earned the win with a complete-game effort against South Terrebonne and a save against Jewel Sumner.

Collin Watson RHP / Jennings, LA / 2027

The uncommitted junior right-hander threw 6.2 innings and allowed 0 earned runs on 2 hits with 3 walks and 14 strikeouts last week.

Bradyn Cupit LHP / West Monroe, LA / 2026

The LSU recruit was stellar last Thursday in the Rebels 7-0 win over Dutchtown. Cupit threw 6.1 shutout innings with 1 walk and 14 strikeouts.

Davis Long SS / RHP / West Monroe, LA / 2027

The uncommitted junior threw 6.2 innings in relief last week and picked up a win against Prairieville. Long allowed 0 runs and 1 hit with 0 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Gage Carr 3B / RHP / West Monroe, LA

Carr picked up a win over St. Amant with 4 shutout innings of work in relief with 4 strikeouts.

Peyton Starr SS / 3B / West Monroe, LA

The former Future Gamer and Louisiana Tech recruit went 6-for-13 with 4 runs scored and also threw out two runners from behind the plate.

Rahim Alem Westgate, LA / 2028

Alem hit at a .857 clip last week with 2 home runs and 7 stolen bases for Westgate.

Tyler Wilson OF / LHP / Zachary, LA / 2028

Wilson had a big week for the Broncos buy going 6-for-12 with a double and 5 runs batted in. He also had 3 two-out RBI's and stole 7 bases.

Kameron Bailey LHP / OF / Zachary, LA / 2027

The uncommitted junior hit .425 last week with a .490 on-base percentage and .800 batting average with runners in scoring position. Bailey belted 2 home runs and 1 double with 7 runs batted in and 3 stolen bases.

Noah Sullivan RHP / Zachary, LA / 2026

The Louisiana Tech recruit tossed a complete-game against Sterlington and allowed 0 runs on 2 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Only three hitters went to the plate in 5 of his 7 innings pitched and he finished the night with a 72% strike percentage.

Cole Trahan SS / Sulphur, LA / 2027

Trahan went 4-for-8 for the Tors last week with 1 double, 1 triple, and 6 runs batted in.

Tate Collins Erath, LA / 2028

Collins went 5-for-10 last week for the Bobcats with 4 doubles and 6 runs batted in.

Ory Titus RHP / 1B / Jewel Sumner, LA / 2027

Titus beat Pope John Paul last Thursday allowing 0 runs on only 1 hit with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.

Avery Bergeron RHP / Livonia, LA / 2026

Bergeron earned the win against Catholic Pointe-Coupee last week after tossing 5 innings and allowing only 1 earned run with 10 strikeouts.

Robert Daley C / Brusly, LA / 2026

Daley went 6-for-12 last week for the Panthers with 1 home run, 1 double, 2 runs scored, and 1 stolen base.

Justin Drago Metairie Park Country Day, LA / 2027

Drago earned the win against Thomas Jefferson last week after tossing 6 innings allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits with 2 walks and 15 strikeouts.

Cooper Drago Ascension Christian, LA / 2029

Drago went 5-for-7 with 4 runs batted in last week for the Lions and was also 2-for-2 on stolen bases.

Preston Leblanc Ascension Christian, LA / 2027

Leblanc went 4-for-9 with a double, run batted in, and stolen base last week.

Zach Hu C / RHP / Episcopal, LA / 2026

The Johns Hoskins recruit hit .636 last week with a home run, 3 doubles, and 6 runs batted in last week. Hu also went 1-0 on the mound with a win against Ascension Catholic.

Braylin Kent OF / 2B / Walker, LA / 2026

Kent hit at a .444 clip last week with a home run, 7 runs batted in, and 3 runs scored.

Cam Loewer OF / St. Edmund Catholic, LA

Loewer went 6-for-20 last week for the Blue Jays with a double, 5 runs batted in, and 3 stolen bases. He had a walk-off hit against Jennings last Tuesdy too and also picked up a win and a save on the mound.

Clay Aguillard 1B / RHP / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Aguillard went 4-for-13 last week with 3 runs batted in, 3 walks, and 3 hit by pitches.  

Paxon Myers LHP / OF / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2028

Myers went 4-for-13 last week with 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored, while also beating Loreauville on the mound with a complete-game shutout with 13 strikeouts.

Peyton Vizena C / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2026

Vizena went 6-for-14 with 4 runs batted in last week and also went 2-0 on the mound with 5 strikeouts across 6.2 innings.

Max Smith C/ 3B / St. Edmund Catholic, LA / 2028

Smith went 5-for-16 with 4 runs batted in and 3 walks last week for the Blue Jays.

Nathan Leblanc 3B / RHP / New Iberia, LA / 2028

Leblanc tossed a complete-game and gave up only 1 run with 7 strikeouts against ARCA last week to lead the Yellow Jackets to the win.

Darron Hollingsworth SS / 2B / Glenbrook, LA / 2028

Hollingsworth went 9-for-15 (.600) with 4 doubles, 9 runs batted in, and 6 stolen bases last week. He also tossed 3.2 innings and struck out 8.

Noah Martin LHP / OF / Glenbrook , LA / 2027

The uncommitted left-hander tossed 5 innings and allowed only 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. 

Davis Powell 3B / RHP / Glenbrook, LA / 2029

Powell tossed 6 shutout innings last week for the Apaches with 7 strikeouts.
