NOTABLE RECAPS FROM MONDAY
#22 Provo (2) vs. North Sanpete (1)
In a tightly contested defensive battle, the Provo Varsity Bulldogs edged out North Sanpete with a 2–1 victory, despite being held to just three hits. Provo capitalized on their limited opportunities, fueled by Dawson Moore, who finished 2-for-2 with a triple, an RBI, and a stolen base, while Will Gulbrandsen drove in the team's other run. On the mound, a collective effort from four Provo pitchers kept North Sanpete’s bats quiet, with Gehrig Orchard earning the win after striking out five in 1.2 innings of work. North Sanpete’s Hudson Smith provided the bulk of his team's offense, accounting for both of their hits, but the Hawks were unable to overcome a combined 11-strikeout performance from the Bulldogs' pitching staff.
Tooele (7) vs. Juab (13)
The Juab Varsity Wasps offensive powerhouse led them to a dominant 13–7 victory over Tooele, fueled by a massive 16-hit performance. Maddix Stowell was the standout performer for Juab, driving in five runs on three hits, including two doubles, while Rhett Richards and Maddix Park each contributed three hits of their own to keep the pressure on Tooele's pitching staff. Despite a resilient effort from Tooele’s Fawson, who finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and a multi-hit game from Lay, the Buffaloes couldn't overcome a shaky start on the mound. Juab’s Jon Mitchell earned the win in relief, steadying the game with four solid innings, before Luke Marostica slammed the door shut by striking out the side in the final frame to secure the win.
