2026 OSSAA Team Preview: Jenks Trojans
February 16, 2026
The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.
Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.
Our 2026 preseason coverage continues today.

Top Newcomers:
- Alex Courtney: OF/LHP, FR, L/L.

- Joe Walker: MIF, JR, 5'11 155, R/L.
- Smart player that moved from out of state with Varsity experience who has been a positive addition to the already talented group.
Key Players Lost: N/A
Coach’s Insight: “The 2026 team is extremely athletic. The returning players have had a significant amount of time under tension at the 6A level which is a positive as we head into the season. We will need to find our identity as a group with a new head coach. Change creates learning opportunities and how quick this team learns to work together will determine how much success this team will have this season.” – Brian Walker, head coach
Outlook: Jenks will return valuable experience in 2026 that also includes high-end athleticism that can really pressure opposing teams. Offensively, they have the makings of what could be a high-end offense that can score in a variety of ways depending on what the game presents. Expect the Trojans to execute at a high level throughout the lineup, utilize veteran experience in what it takes to be successful at the 6A level, and pressure teams with high-end athletes both in the box and on the bases. Their style of offense travels well as it will be dynamic in a highly competitve 6A District 3. On the mound, they are full of strike throwers that should attack opposing hitters, force action, and allow their defense to make plays. The staff should compliment the fundamental defense around the diamond. Coach Walker and his staff will learn about the depth on the mound early with a strong schedule to start the spring, but Jenks will be a resilient group, play their best baseball down the stretch, and will be a scary team to play in May.
