FROM SATURDAY (2.14.26)

+ MADISON-RIDGELAND ACADEMY VS. GULFPORT

Madison-Ridgeland Academy earned a 4-0 shutout win over Gulfport on Saturday at Biloxi High School behind a strong pitching performance from Taylor and Varnell. Taylor was dominant in his start, tossing five hitless innings with eight strikeouts, while Varnell closed the door to secure the save. MRA scored in the second on an RBI double from Anderson and added insurance runs in the third. Swanson led the offense with two hits as the Patriots turned in a clean, efficient performance on both sides of the ball.

+ SOUTH JONES VS. FLORENCE

Florence pulled off a dramatic 7-6 walk-off win over South Jones on Saturday, rallying from a five-run deficit to cap a wild comeback. Trailing 6-5 in the seventh, the Eagles pushed across the winning runs, highlighted by McMillan’s two-run single. Florence trailed 6-1 earlier in the game before chipping away, then erupting late. McMillan and White each drove in two runs, while Florence added pressure on the bases with six stolen bases. White earned the win in relief as the Eagles now turn their attention to Mendenhall on Tuesday.

+ ST. STANISLAUS VS. PICAYUNE

St. Stanislaus pulled out a 5-4 win over Picayune on Saturday, using a late rally to take the lead in the seventh inning. Trailing 4-3, the Rockachaws got a two-run single from Podlin to move in front for good. Murphy set the tone early with a first-inning home run, and Podlin finished with three RBIs to lead the offense. Dartez earned the win in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings, as St. Stanislaus now prepares to host Vancleave on Tuesday.

+ HATLEY VS. SMITHVILLE

Hatley earned a 4-2 win over Smithville on Saturday, getting an early boost from Odom’s two-run single in the second inning. Sloan was solid on the mound for the Tigers, allowing two runs over five innings while striking out five. Odom led the offense from the nine spot, finishing 2-for-2 with two RBIs, as Hatley held on down the stretch and now heads to Nettleton for its next game on Tuesday.

+ CHOCTAW COUNTY VS. LOUISVILLE

Choctaw County edged Louisville 4-3 on Saturday behind a dominant performance from Curtis, who struck out 11 over seven strong innings. The Chargers jumped out early with two first-inning runs, then regained the lead in the eighth by drawing back-to-back bases-loaded walks. Stevens and Telano each drove in a run, while Choctaw County added pressure on the bases with six stolen bases. Holman picked up the save as the Chargers now prepare to travel to Kosciusko on Friday.

+ BRANDON VS. COLUMBIA ACADEMY

Brandon pulled away late to earn a 5-2 win over Columbia Academy on Saturday. After the game went back and forth early, the Bulldogs took the lead for good in the fifth on Adcox’s second sacrifice fly, then added insurance with a solo homer from Smith in the sixth. Adcox drove in three runs to lead the offense, while Brandon added pressure on the bases with five stolen bases. Culpepper was strong in relief, tossing five innings to help close it out as Brandon now prepares to host DeSoto Central on Thursday.
