NOTABLE RECAPS FROM MONDAY
Skyline (4) vs. Woods Cross (3)
The Skyline Eagles fended off a late-inning surge from Woods Cross to secure a narrow 4–3 victory in a game defined by efficient starting pitching and a barrage of extra-base hits. Andrew Johnson led the way from the mound, navigating over six frames with six strikeouts to keep the Wildcats' offense in check. Offensively, the Eagles peppered the gaps early, with Hayes Marshall racking up two doubles and Cole Muse, Xaidan Butcher, and Peyton Papadakis all contributing extra-base hits and RBIs to build the lead. Woods Cross found a spark through James Hallows, who collected two hits and an RBI, while Beckham Stanger and Paxton Healy each drove in runs to keep things close until the final out. Despite a gritty eight-strikeout performance from Creighton Farr, the Eagles’ ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities and Carson Atkinson’s steady relief allowed them to escape with the win.

Payson (4) vs. #4 Maple Mountain (12)
The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles put on an absolute offensive clinic, soaring to a dominant 12–4 victory over Payson. The story of the day was Mitch Walker, who delivered a powerhouse performance for the ages; Walker finished 3-for-4 with two home runs and a staggering seven RBIs, single-handedly outscoring the opposition. He was supported by a perfect afternoon from Nash Ferguson, who went 3-for-3 with a double and two stolen bases, and Jeremiah Hall, who crossed the plate three times. On the mound, Kavyn Carter was clinical, tossing four shutout innings with six strikeouts to earn the win and keep the Lions' bats silent through the early frames. While Payson found a bright spot in Rangel, who turned in a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate, the early 12-run deficit proved too steep to climb. Despite a late four-run surge against the Maple Mountain bullpen, the Golden Eagles' relentless start ensured a comfortable victory on their home turf.

Fremont (2) vs. #24 Layton (4)
The Layton Lancers displayed remarkable efficiency to secure a focused 4–2 victory over the Fremont Silverwolves, turning a limited hit count into a decisive home win. While Fremont out-hit the Lancers 7 to 4, Will Hoffman provided the game’s loudest contact with a towering two-run home run, and Nik Bielaczyc added a crucial RBI triple to provide the early cushion. The Silverwolves remained a threat throughout the afternoon, fueled by a perfect multi-hit performance from Crew Hudman and consistent table-setting by Adam Mikesell, but they were unable to overcome Layton’s lockdown relief efforts. After a brief start from Andres Cedeno, the Lancers' bullpen took control as Kaleb Hall and Austin Pritchett combined for nearly six innings of scoreless ball to stifle any comeback attempts. Despite a gritty complete-game shift from Fremont’s Tad Grange, Layton’s ability to capitalize on scoring windows and maintain defensive poise allowed them to escape with the win.

Bountiful (9) vs. Brighton (7)
The Bountiful Redhawks survived a late-inning offensive explosion from the Brighton Bengals to secure a gritty 9–7 victory in a game that came down to the final out. Bountiful established an early lead behind a multi-hit performance from Hudson Malmrose and a game-high three RBIs from Kyson Burningham, who both capitalized on scoring opportunities with extra-base hits. The Redhawks were particularly aggressive on the basepaths, swiping five bags to keep the pressure on the Brighton defense throughout the afternoon. Conner Wack provided much-needed stability in relief for Bountiful, navigating four innings to help preserve the lead as the Bengals' bats heated up. Brighton refused to go quietly, fueled by a powerful home run from Oliver Pohlman and multi-hit efforts from Ellis and Mac Gunn. Despite the Bengals' late-game surge that saw them pull within a single run, Bountiful’s early cushion and the closing effort of Daxton Jenkins allowed the Redhawks to escape with the narrow home win.

Gunnison Valley (3) vs. Manti (1)
The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs leaned on an electric performance from their pitching staff to shut down Manti in a focused 3–1 victory. The story of the game was the sheer dominance on the mound for the Bulldogs; Waylon Sorenson and Braxton Pickett combined to strike out a staggering 14 batters over seven innings, accounting for two-thirds of the total outs recorded. Sorenson earned the win with four strong innings while also leading the offense with two hits. Gunnison Valley manufactured its runs through timely hitting from Landry Edwards, Porter Comin, and Axton Sorenson, providing just enough cushion for the arms to go to work. Manti's Spencer Robbins fought hard with a multi-hit day, including a double, but the Templars struggled to string hits together against the Bulldogs' high-velocity duo. Despite a clean relief appearance from Manti's Zach Blackham, the Bulldogs' command of the strike zone ultimately secured the home win.
