NOTABLE RECAPS FROM THURSDAY
#4 Pleasant Grove (1) vs. #13 Dixie (2)
The Dixie Flyers emerged on top of a classic pitchers' duel, edging out Pleasant Grove in a swift 2–1 victory defined by absolute command on the mound. The story of the afternoon was Jonny Mcguire, who delivered a masterclass for the Flyers, tossing a complete-game three-hitter with a staggering 10 strikeouts to keep the Vikings' hitters off-balance. Dixie’s offense provided the necessary support through a multi-hit performance from Weston Gilmore, who peppered the gaps with a double, and Cannon Turley, who also collected two hits to sustain the offensive pressure. Pleasant Grove’s Ryder Huntsman was nearly as dominant in the losing effort, matching his counterpart with 10 strikeouts over six focused innings and surrendering only one earned run. While the Vikings found a spark through a double from Tobin Degelbeck and aggressive baserunning by Tavake Wolfgramm, who swiped two bases, they were ultimately unable to solve Mcguire in a high-intensity battle. Amazing game by two teams near the top of their respective classifications, and both inside the the top 15.

Davis (5) vs. #8 Corner Canyon (8)
The Corner Canyon Chargers capitalized on early defensive miscues and command struggles to secure an 8–5 victory over the Davis Darts in this big matchup between 6A teams. Despite being out-hit by a resilient Davis lineup, Corner Canyon seized control with a massive seven-run second inning, highlighted by a pivotal bases-clearing double from Jobie Brady and several disciplined plate appearances that yielded eight total walks. Lincoln Eure was clinical on the mound, tossing 3.1 hitless innings to earn the win while effectively silencing the Darts' bats through the middle frames. Davis mounted a late-inning charge led by Cam Moody, who finished a perfect 3-for-4 with a stolen base, and a multi-hit effort from Tyson Baggett, but the Darts were unable to overcome the early deficit. This was Game 1 of a three-game series that will pick up again today as Davis looks to protect their home turf and even the score.

#17 Salem Hills (3) vs. #19 Jordan (4)
The Jordan Beetdiggers held off a late-inning push from Salem Hills to secure a tight 4–3 victory behind efficient pitching and timely extra-base hits. Daniel Strope anchored the defense from the mound, throwing five strong innings and allowing just one earned run to earn the win. Offensively, the Beetdiggers found their spark through Ayden Thurgood and Easton Wartman, who both peppered the gaps with doubles, while CJ Sumner provided steady pressure with a multi-hit day. Salem Hills remained a threat until the final out, largely due to a towering two-run home run from Guss Johnson and a resilient three-hit performance from Maddox Johnson. Despite the Skyhawks' late offensive surge and a clean relief appearance from Bracken Lindley, Kade Carter stepped in for the final two frames to shut the door and preserve the hard-fought win for Jordan.

Shadow Ridge (NV) (7) vs. #2 American Fork (6)
The Shadow Ridge Mustangs capitalized on a defensive struggle by American Fork to secure a tight 7–6 victory, despite being out-hit by the Cavemen. While American Fork found plenty of success at the plate—highlighted by a towering home run and three RBIs from Cruz Adams—seven team errors proved too much to overcome. The Mustangs remained disciplined, manufacturing runs through the patient eyes of Dylan Foster and Gage Kennedy, who combined for four walks, while Evan Noble provided a spark with a double. On the mound, Gage Wiedmeyer was instrumental in relief for Shadow Ridge, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to silence the Cavemen's late-inning threats. Although Bode Gaggero provided a similarly dominant relief appearance for American Fork, the early unearned runs allowed by the Cavemen defense ultimately decided the contest in favor of the Mustangs.
