Throughout the high school season, we will recognize a Mizuno Player of the Week and Mizuno Pitcher of the Week. Each week, standout performances from both position players and pitchers across the state will be highlighted as players continue to produce eye-catching results. This season, one Player of the Week and one Pitcher of the Week will be selected based on nominations submitted by high school coaches throughout Mississippi. Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 5 of the 2026 spring season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Henry Abt OF / RHP / Hartfield Academy, MS / 2026 Henry Abt, a Southern Miss commit, put together one of the most dominant offensive weeks you’ll find, going an incredible 10-for-11 at the plate. He tallied two doubles and launched three home runs while driving in nine RBI's, consistently barreling baseballs and doing damage in every outing. A performance like that highlights just how locked in Abt was at the plate all week.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Tucker Elliott OF / LHP / Myrtle Attendance Center, MS / 2029 Freshman left-hander Tucker Elliott turned in a standout performance on the mound against Senatobia, throwing a complete seven innings while allowing four hits and one earned run. He struck out 12 and walked just two in the outing. Elliott also contributed at the plate over three games, going 3-for-5 with four walks.
