2026 Prep Baseball Washington Player of the Year - Christopher Moore
June 10, 2026

Kentlake senior INF/RHP Christopher Moore has won the 2026 Prep Baseball Washington Player of the Year award.
An exceptional two-way talent and University of Washington commit, Moore led the way for the Falcons all spring long on both sides of the baseball. Offensively, Moore put up numbers unlike anything we've seen out of Washington in recent years. In the regular season, Moore hit .638, reaching base at a .727 clip with a slugging percentage over 1.000 as well. Moore totaled 37 hits in his 20 regular season games, 15 of them going for extra bases.
The impact in the middle of the order was felt beginning to end from Moore, totaling 36 RBI and 25 runs scored. The plate discipline was simply on another level, with 17 walks drawn and just a single strikeout offensively. Moore looked the part across multiple live looks this spring.
Moore's dominance at the plate was fortified by a great spring on the mound as well. In the regular season, he totaled 32 innings pitched to a 0.66 ERA. He allowed just 18 hits in those games, walking 16 and striking out 59. We were also on hand to witness one of those outings in the early part of the spring, where he ran his fastball up into the low 90's with a wipeout slider that has become his go-to out pitch in recent years.

Moore carried over his POTY regular season into the playoffs, where he turned in clutch performance after clutch performance. Our next look at the senior came during 3A state regional gameplay, where he led the Falcons to a pair of victories and clinched a trip to Everett for the 3A state semifinals. In the regional, he went CG on the mound with just 1 run allowed, and reached base 5 times across the two games played that day.

The strong postseason play carried into the state semifinal and final games. In the semi, Moore delivered another superb outing on the hill, going 6.2 IP with 1 ER and 8 punch outs. He also reached base twice in the victory. The 3A state championship was arguably his best game at the plate, reaching base 4 times with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI in a tight contest. Moore capped off his final high school season with a 3A state championship with Kentlake.
