Quick Hitters: Charlotte Summer ID Pitchers

Brandon Hall
NC / Mid-ATL Director of Scouting

On Tuesday, June 2nd, Prep Baseball North Carolina hosted the Charlotte Summer ID at UNC Charlotte's Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium. Featuring players from the 2027-2029 grad classes from both North Carolina and South Carolina, the event provided an opportunity for athletes to update their player profiles while competing in a data-rich showcase environment designed to identify top talent across the region.

The day began with individual assessments, including height, weight, and grip strength testing, before players moved into offensive evaluations. Hitters participated in multiple rounds of batting practice with TrackMan technology capturing batted ball data and performance metrics, while BLAST Motion provided additional swing analytics. Players also had the opportunity to complete Vizual Edge testing during the offensive portion of the workout, adding another layer of player evaluation focused on visual performance and processing.

Following batting practice, players worked through defensive evaluations from their primary positions, allowing the Prep Baseball scouting staff to evaluate athletic actions, footwork, hands, arm strength, and overall defensive ability. Timed 60-yard dashes were then conducted to collect running metrics before the event concluded with controlled bullpen sessions. Pitchers threw in front of TrackMan technology while video captured each bullpen, providing detailed insight into velocity, pitch movement, spin characteristics, and overall arsenal effectiveness.

Over the coming days, Prep Baseball NC will release scouting notes, statistical leaderboards, and player reports from the Charlotte Summer ID as we break down the top performers and standout prospects from the event.
